Hello and thank you for the lovely profile note! What fun this is and to read yours makes fell as though I better clean hous a bit (and update) mine. how fun to be an art teacher! Then to have your livingroom become your studio is wonderful too! I have a craft room and am very thankful for that. My husband puts up with me having it too. I have really only dabbled in scapbooking and cards for a while now; however, I have branched out to making a tote bag too. It sure had been a while since I brought out the sewing machine but you can use it similiar to a paint brush. So we will see how that comes out. And to hear you were raised around shepherds - I am such a lover of all dogs, but they are so darn cute! Enjoy your crafts and may your pallet be blessed with creativity!
Hello Rockie, you have a very interesting profile. I'm originally from OH and still have a lot of family there so I usually make at least one trip there a year. We definitely share a love of all things nature inspired. I wish I could come take a class from you since I just learned to crochet last summer after the birth of my daughter and I quickly became addicted! I'm so jealous of your living room transformation to a studio. It will be a long time before any extra room in our place :-)
My MIL just introduced me to Stampington & Co and I can't stop pouring over the pages. I also have grown very fond of the movie NIghtmare Before Christmas, but I love to watch it around Halloween. My husband was a Biblical Studies major in college so we have just about every version of the Bible on our bookshelves. Oh, and if you noted me jumping around a bit in this posting, that't kinda how my minds works :-)
One dislike we share is a distaste for cartoony anime designs. Not my favorite but I am trying to be more open to all types of art. I really would like to take some painting/ mixed medium art classes someday. Maybe you could share some tips for a novice painter :-)

We have QUITE a few things in common! I am new to swap-bot and finding out lots of new and interesting things since I joined. One of my new favorite things to do is make ATC's! Its SOOOOOO much fun, but every ATC that I have created have included birds on them. I also work with the same media as you - I lean more towards Mixed Media. I love creating things out of nothing. I like to check out some of your altered books/journals. Do you sell them online? (etsy, or another place?) I am, currently working on a few things of my own. My issue is is finding the time to do some of the things - it's certainly getting better. I love that you created an Art Studio out of your living room! I have been wanting to do something like that for a long time but my husband things that we need a guest bedroom more - I am finding new ways to convince him that I need a studio (leaving my "clutter" laying around everywhere - even though I am usually a VERY tidy person. I use the excuse, "well, if I had a place to put all of this stuff! ;) )
I love nature - everything nature. Everything that you listed in your "Art I make/want in my Art" list speaks to me. My friends call me a little "hippy-ish". I would call it something else. There's just something about nature that can make you in a better mood, I love everything about it. I hope one day to be as accomplished as you - you have a busy work load it seems. It's very inspiring. I hope that I can see some of your stuff sometime (via online or something) and I hope that one day we can maybe do a private swap - the comments left by other's is intriguing to me and now I want a Rockie piece of my own! (=
Rockie rocks! She's so very artistic, and makes the most beautiful cards and ATCs. Her style is quite unique, and she sends love and goodies with all her swaps. She's my new best ATC friend. Love her.
