Hi! My name is Mystic and I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and 2 kids. I am a social worker and mostly work with kids and teens in the foster care system. However, I have been considering becoming a travel planner after work hours. Before the pandemic, I spent a lot of my free time looking for flight deals, researching destinations, booking flights, finding the best ‘hole in the wall’ food wherever I’m traveling to, creating itineraries etc. so there has been a huge shift in what I do with my time during the pandemic.
My favorite things are:
🥘 🍲 Food: I love all things food and food related. I cook a lot and always have, long simmering stews and desserts are my specialty. I also will often try to recreate a dish that we’ve had while traveling which is fun for my family and I.
✈️ 🚢 Traveling: I love every part of traveling! Waking up super early for a flight, packing for a flight, choosing my seat, transportation logistics, learning a few phrases of a new language, converting currency, I even love airports! I also really love cruising and have been on so many cruises. I especially like cruising for longer periods of time like 21 days.
🐆🐕 Animals: I love animals especially big cats! I would love to get a dog, but struggle to commit to this since my city rains most of the year.
📚 Reading: I love to read and usually read several books a month. My favorite books to read are usually first person fiction because I have a hard time getting into the story when it is written in third person. There is so much good fiction writing that I don’t have a favorite author. Lately I’ve been reading biographies and autobiographies.
🍰🥧 Baking: I love baking treats and definitely bake more than the average home baker. I usually bake a treat, dessert or pastry every other day, but lately have been baking every day. I love baking cakes, pies, chocolate croissants, brioche raisin bread and all things sweet. My family and friends request baked goods all week long for breakfast, dessert or to take care of a craving!
PLEASE contact me if you have not received my swap in the mail in a timely manner. I usually mail swaps the day after partners are assigned, so if you haven’t received my swap—it may have been lost in the mail. Please contact me and I will send it again. Please contact me before providing a low rating.
90 Day Fiance franchise, Love after lock up/life after lock up, Most Real Housewives, Documentaries, Three’s Company, I Love Lucy, Martin
If you are a cigarette smoker or you live with a cigarette smoker, your home and the items you mail will smell like cigarette smoke even after traveling through the postal system. If this is you, please don’t send me anything from your home. I have asthma and my throat is hurting even from the thought of this. An alternative would be to possibly package in the car (if there is no cigarette smoke) straight from the store or a friends house.
A note on teabags: Please do not send old tea bags that you’ve had for years.
I love all things chai! Then mint, peppermint, vanilla, spice.
Least liked teas: hibiscus, lemon, english breakfast, earl grey, ginger, black cherry and fruity teas.
I would love to try any new tea that is not on my least liked teas.
For tea swaps, I am open to receiving various drink mixes or packets such as 3 in 1 coffee or hot chocolate.
I like milk chocolate. I do not like dark chocolate or white chocolate.
I absolutely love postcards because they are such a quick way to connect and brighten someone’s day!
I love homemade cards
Other good postcard options: Food, Recipes, Beaches, Dogs: real or cartoon, Big cats: lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards, cheetahs; Japanese architecture, Skylines
Please save the postcards with nudity, bugs/insects and famous people and non famous people (even in cartoon form) for yourself.
I like to cook and bake. If swapping recipes, I would like savory stovetop or crockpot recipes with any type of meat. I bake often and would enjoy baking recipes that are off the beaten path or country specific. I would absolutely love family recipes of any kind.
