Some stuff about me:
I love art more than most things in the world which is why i'm going to be an art teacher. It took me a while to come to this conclusion but I'm much happier for it. And before you ask: Highschool teacher, not primary school.
My fav colour is purple, I didn't choose it to be that, but it is so. I seem to also be magnetically attracted to the colour grey and have to physically stop myself from buying things in that colour otherwise all I shall be dressed in is purple and grey clothes with a purple and grey room and purple and grey furnishings. Seriously, it's an affliction. Also I like Orange and Yellow, but not so obsessively.
Books sustain the fabric of existence and should be treated with respect (you will always find me carrying one around in my bag with me). Needless to say I love books. Also I get annoyed with people who assume that if I like Twilight I don't read "good" books. Please be reminded that everyone has their own opinion and books are for entertainment. I don't mind if you don't like the series, I just don't like it if you criticise me for liking it. Take a look at my fav authors and see how cool I am! (jks)
I enjoy talking, and usually end up talking about really strange things (like what I would be if I was a peice of furniture. I like to think I'd be a lamp), though at least this keeps the conversation interesting. My friends and I usually end up getting onto the weird topic of the week, or arguing about something, this morning it was Swine-Flu, Twilight, The Royal Family being reptilian overlords and why it's so hard to read every copy of New Scientist if you have a subscription.
I live in Australia, on an island within an island in a river known as the Hawkesbury. I've got this annoying tendency to be slightly cryptic when I say things.
I spend too much time daydreaming about the artworks I want to create when I should really be working. However most of the time they don't come to fruition, but that's the way with most ideas I guess.
There are no words to describe how much I enjoy Sunday afternoons, they are the best time of the week. Sometimes I wish I could have a whole week full of Sunday afternoons so I could get it out of my system, but I'm not sure it would work too well.
As per above: I love reading. My favourite authors are as follows:
Douglas Adams (love Hitchhikers Guide and Dirk Gently novels, Adams rocks!)
Dianna Wynne Jones (she is annoyingly under appreciated for an award winning author)
Terry Prattchet (love his sense of humour, Discworld is too funny for words)
Chuck Palahniuk (morbid nihilism is his middle name, got to love Fight Club and Diary)
Jane Austen (Pride & Prejudice plus Persuasion are my favs)
J.K. Rowling (nuff said)
Stephanie Meyers (I'm not one of those ppl that read her when it first came out, I'm one of those bandwagon people that just jumped on. But I care not!)
Cory Doctorow (amasing author, I recommend Someone Comes to Town, Someone Leaves Town. It is one of my fav books of all time)
and obviously I have alot of books that I just love, there are way too many to name!
I'm one of those people who talk in movie quotes, often only my sister knows what I'm going on about. I like to play that game where you say a quote and the other person has to guess where it's from.
Fav movies:
Pride & Prejudice (with Kiera Knightley)
Fight Club
Ghost World
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
Almost Famous
Stardust
The Princess Bride
White Oleander
Enchanted
The Illusionist
Billy Elliot
Gulliver's Travels
The Number 23
Juno
Tank Girl
Serenity (i love Firefly!)
Coraline
The Nightmare Before Xmas
Corpse Bride
At the moment I'm really getting into knitting again. I'm knitting a cardigan for my sister and also a bag for myself. I love to crochet, knit and sew things, I especially like making things for other people.
I love to collage things aswell, which is probably why I have such a difficult time throwing away magazines as I think I might be able to use them for something (yeah I'm one of those hoarding people).
I'm very limited in Origami, but it's so much fun. I have alot of origami things in my house as decorations.
Owls, cats, turtles, Alice in Wonderland (especially the Mad Hatter), leggings, knitting, crochet, sewing, bunnies, skulls, birds, chocolate, ribbons, black and white photography, necklaces (especially vintage or animal themed ones), vanilla or watermelon flavoured lipbalm, corsets, 18th century anything, martinis, James Bond, red lips, poetry, roses, Salvidor Dali anything, Purple things, pressed flowers, feathers, handmade anything, graphic novels, old art prints, loose pages from books, sharpie markers, veriagated wool (for knitting), buttons, silver embroidery thread, cherry red lipstick, bird tattoos.
I don't have too many dislikes, but here are a few things I wouldn't really appreciate getting:
Flakers, Store bought dog postcards, coconut lipbalm, Neon or Fluro coloured things, anything sport team related I don't follow any and don't particularly enjoy sport, I'd rather play scrabble or go dancing than play soccer. And that's it pretty much :)
I love the heart system but I sometimes think it is ill used. I don't like it when a swap says something like: "put more in for a heart". I will give you a heart if I think you've sent me something wonderful, unique or just plain special. I love getting mail, and receiving something that someone has put time and effort into is such a fantastic thing. I think it cheapens the whole experience if someone thinks they have to put more in simply to get a heart. Quality not Quantity!
