I really love my two cats and mornings in my sun room with them, drinking hot tea with cream. I love all things creative - recently started a devotional art journal swap where I live. I'm into ATC and fell in love with the unique thrill that is getting a handmade item, in a package that an actual human took the time to write my name on, and often includes extra goodies inside.
This type of work and connection feels like the medicine we need right now... The gift of simple community, a sense of abundance, some wild anticipation and lots of gratitude.
I love organizing my crafts as much as I do crafting. I could cut out good words from magazines for hours without making a single sentence, or rearrange my stamps or scraps.
My style is eclectic, often a little weird or kitchy, sometimes even bizzare (surrealism and images that doesn't take itself too seriously). Most of my art pulls to the divine feminine: anything with the female form, or Earth, or Nature, or the Moon... And so lots of my creations feature her.
I love anything natural colored (something you'd find in nature... Browns, linen colors, greens, rich saturated jewel tones), I love a good emo streak with some dark vampy styles, and also big bold patterns. Not afraid of a little drama. Least favorite is a pinky bubble gum pop styles, or ultra femme pastel and lace, but I still appreciate it.
Crafts I'm into: collage, junk journaling, art journaling, stamps, I make some super cool paper mandalas with a bunch of different shaped paper punches, I dabble in Gothic calligraphy, alcohol markers, paint pens, watercolor, and just starting kicking around gouache!
Have previously messed with embossing, earthen clay and polymer clay, all sorts of jewelry making, silversmithing, stained glass, fiber weaving, frame drum making, rattle making... On and on.
Frankly I'm just excited to share some of my good fortune and craftin time with others. And I'm ecstatic to see what you all have to share!
