Among other things I'm @Megbomb Mom and Grams to her three beautiful little girls. I quilt, sew paint, sketch, art journal, read and cook, just too name a few. I also make the embellishments that Meg and my sister use when they scrap book. Never let it be said that I let any piece of trash go untouched. If I can figure out how to turn it into something else, I will. I've made my own paper, candles, buttons, jewelry, woven my own fabric, and baked my own bread. I'm just an old fashioned girl! I am active in my church. I sing in the choir, sew with the Sewing Ladies and serve food at funerals and weddings, I all serve on the Church Council as Chairperson for the Worship and Music Committee. When I'm done with also that I serve as Chief Cook, Bottle Washer and Driver for my sister's kids. She works,I keep house. I became disabled several years ago, this was a solution that solved a lot of our problems. Sometimes women don't use their heads either! I'm a huge animal lover. If it has fur it's got me wrapped around it's tail. I'm head animal wrangler at home. That means I pay their bills, administer their meds and clean up their messes!
I will read just about anything on the printed page. I wouldn't use a kindle type device if you paid me, it has to have turnable pages. I like mysteries the best and figure them out about half way through. For authors just see Meg's list, we read alot of the same authors. When really bored I have been known to read ingredient labels on cleaning products. Sounding out the chemicals really stretches the brain! I love to swap books, buy books, collect looks, and of course read books!
I think quilting is probably my biggest passion. I belong to the local quilt guild and teach quilting at my church. I'm getting ready to start my second class there. The first one runs on Monday afternoons, that one is called "The it Doesn't Matter Quilters". The next one will run in the evenings for the gals who work. I also art journal, Meg turned me on to that, and I find it really creative. we send a small journal back and forth. I feel like a rank amateur next to her. I 'll be teaching sewing to a local girl scout troop next month. That will be interesting. They have to make something for babies so they will be making those little hats that they use in the hospital.
I like it all, I have very eclectic taste in music. About the only music I don't like is the really discordant heavy metal stuff. I love, classical, oldies, country, rap, salsa, and folk . I'm sure there are some I don't know the names of!
I Like:-
Animals
Antiques
Art
Fabric
Ephemera My favorite thing to do is "turn nothing into something", and I do it all the time! I love that it is now called upcycling. It used to be just being cheap, now it is being socially conscience!
I Dislike:-
Mean people
Horror movies and anything of that genre
cruelty to animals and people
Wow! This is hard, I never think about what I WANT! Fine glitters
Good markers(fine Line)
neat stickers(no licensed characters )
ephemera
fat quarters
jelly rolls
quilting rulers
thread,all kinds
books I haven't read before(this is really hard to
do, accept this as a challenge!)
beads
jewelry findings
found items(junk you find on your morning walk) pretty papers
I'm sure this is out of order somehow. It should be at the tp of the list. In all the things I've said here, I've never mentioned my absolute love of all things southwestern or Native American. The colors, the artwork, the jewelry, etc. So if your here looking for things for a profile based swap. THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT to look!!
