I'm retired, remarried, sold our homes, bought a coach RV and we travel full time. Life is good!
I enjoy drawing, painting, machine quilting, embroidery.
Had to put all my treasured collections in storage and try to control myself from picking stuff up at all the shops I go in (except mermaids ). Even though we have a large RV, storage is tight.
I seem to unconsciously collect writing pens as well. I love a good writing pen and am a chronic list maker and planner so I always have a little notebook or journal in my purse just for that purpose.
My favorite color is blue, with green running a close second. Haven't met a color I didn't like though!
Watercolor, pen and ink, graphite sketching. My work is 11x14 and under, including ATC's. I enjoy painting flowers mostly, seascapes, wildlife and recently desert landscapes. Since we’ve started traveling like to paint notecards and bookmarks. When the collection gets too big I leave some in the campgrounds showers or laundry as art abandonment
Sewing and Quilting - also smaller projects such as lap quilts, wall hangings, mug rugs and the like. Have been especially in to fabric ATC's lately.
Embroidery (Prefer DMC thread) and love to incorporate seed beads into my work. Recently began learning ribbon embroidery.
If you are my partner and needing ideas, these are the things that I am always in need of and make me smile:
ATC watercolor blanks or plastic sleeves.
Writing pens/drawing pencils/color or watercolor pencils Anything to doodle with!
Small still life, floral or landscape pictures cut from magazines, postcards, etc to draw inspiration from when I can't think of anything to sketch or paint
Small notebooks/journals . Lined, plain or graph paper.
Cotton fabric scraps for quilting - 2 inch or larger) I am collecting 2", 2 1/2" and 5" quilting squares)
Love getting fabric scraps uncut in squares just as much. Small pieces of cotton fabric suitable for fussy cutting also appreciated for fabric ATC creations.
Scraps of velvety, satiny, or brocade fabric/blingy trim/lacy pieces etc -Small pieces you would normally throw away are awesome! This fabric can be used- like cut off discarded clothing - adds to the vintage look :-)
Small pieces of quilt batting or fusible interfacing.
Felt (wool or acrylic) used for applique or fabric ATC backing. So small pieces are fine
Ribbons, lace, ric rack, any type trims, flat charms, silk/paper flowers, iron ons. Anything to put on a fabric ATC so small scraps are gold to me.
Seed beads, sequins or other blingy things to sew on ATCs or wall hangings
Sewing needles, thimbles, threaders.
Buttons any size, style or color. Again, used is best
DMC Embroidery floss
Fibers like fun yarn, twine, pretty threads
Embroidery hoops - any size
Small scissors for paper or thread
Small glass beads, especially love seed beads
Soft fuzzy socks
Dark or nude theme items.
