I am from Michigan, grew up in a small town on Lake Michigan. I moved away to college and lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Iowa, Arkansas and now Texas. I have a family. Three boys - 23, 20 and 16 and I am married. My family is very special to me, as my Dad passed away in 2010 and life becomes more meaningful.
I tend to be a perfectionist and cannot stand it when I mess up. I enjoy swapping and began swapping after cancer surgery and my vocal chords were paralyzed. It gave me an outlet to speak and to create. I am a Christian, but a real-life Christian who messes up all of the time and I am willing to admit it. :)
I am a Special Education Curriculum and Instruction Specialist. I am passionate about special needs and feel that everyone has something to contribute to life.
I will ALWAYS send out a swap, so please let me know if it has been long enough that you should have received it.
I read a lot, so I don't have favorites. I loved the Boxcar Children when I was young, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women.
I love Richard Paul Evans, Debbie Macomber and a few other current authors. I read a lot of Christian romance type books called Love Inspired. I have tons, so if you want to swap some let me know.
I listen to all types of music, but most often Christian alternative / inspirational. I love country, have to laugh sometimes at the lyrics. I love alternative more than pop and seem to like the darker songs.
Things I like:
Someone recently sent me a swap and said that by not having specifics, I am hard to swap with. SO, I am going to give you some specifics:
I like: wooden Cats, nesting dolls, hand-made items, pens, markers, note cards, post cards, stamps, old coins, note pads (those dollar ones you can buy at the store); stamps; ink for said stamps (I have no idea what the good brands are, but the dollar store ones work for me), old pictures (I don't need to know the people), sentimental things that may have meaning to you and that you want to share with me. I like the photo story swaps. I have been in one of those and it touched my heart. So, send me a photo and tell me about its meaning. I loved that. I like writing and I love art. My sister is on here and she is super artistic, so I enjoy seeing others people's art.
I don't really care for cartoon postcards or old cards that are bent. I like scenery post cards and a recent swapper sent me her favorite place in her city in a photo, too cool! I don't really care for little stickers. I don't really have use for them. I HATE it when someone sends me a swap or a post card and just signs their name. Interact with me, that is what swapping is all about! I am easy to please, tell me what you did that day. :) Have fun, don't be afraid. I usually am a pretty easy going person.

Some of my favorite swaps are swaps that you have been kind enough to write me a note or to tell me why you did the swap and what ie means to you.
If I realize that a swap guideline wasn't met, I will always let you know. I will not rate until I hear back from you.

Good morning from another "real-life" Christian! Have you read Bad Girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs? As for Debbie Macomber--isn't she a wonderful author?
