I have 4 kids and I am currently working as a teacher for Culinary Arts at the high school level. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. Ages are 30, 20 year old twins and an 18 year old. My 30 year old does not live at home :) We love to fish, play video games (the kids), bake and hang out at the beach.
I dabble in all kinds of things and am always looking for something new. I love cross stitch, it relaxes me until I make a mistake:-) I have recently got back into Origami and Kiragami... love all the pretty papers! I am also into spinning my own yarn, I love this!! I knit, have just learned how to do some basic crocheting. I also love sewing and am getting my kids into it too. My daughter got a small sewing machine for her birthday and all 3 love to use it. I also love to bake and love all kinds of unusual cookie cutters and kitchen gadgets and gizmos.
I love Victorian style things. I love the frills and all kinds of girly stuff. At the same time, I am the one in the family to use the power tools and I have bought many over the years:-) Go figure. I love tea and tea related items. I do not like Earl Grey or Chai, but I love most anything else. I also like coffees. Mostly the flavored ones.
I love fabric!! I can't tell how much I have, but I love everything! Well, almost everything, I don't like Halloween stuff, but spiders and trees and webs are great. I LOVE Christmas! I like pink, purple, lavender, bright colors, and neons. I love the funky designs that inspire! I am always open to other things and themes as long as it is PG rated :-)
I have fallen in love with buttons. I like all kinds, but the vintage/hard to find/odd ones are the best!! I love beads! I have started to make decorative pins out of beads. I am always on the lookout for unusual and pretty ones. I also love to make cookies with cookie cutters and deorate them with royal icing. The more unusual the cutters, the better. I just purchased the Star Wars ones and had a blast making those for my son's birthday. I love all cake decorating supplies and can always use more. I also found a Statue of Liberty cookie cutter! Woo Hoo!!
I am beginning to experiment with dyeing my own fabric and yarn. I am trying to get white fibers, either cotton or wool or alpaca or anything not synthetic. I am experimenting with the food coloring and kool-aid methods, so those are also really great things to send me. I am game for all kinds of colors! Love the really bright ones, even some neon for this :-)
I find we are all Star Wars nerds in my house. Star Wars Weekends begin this weekend at Hollywood Studios and we are planning our next trip :-) We love Star Wars and Disney. Tigger is my favorite character, but my kids just love them all. I think Darth Vader is pretty high on the list.... I think I should be worried :-) We also love Dr. Who, Homicide Hunter, Fear Thy Neighbor, cooking shows.....we have a very eclectic style :-)
