1/7/15-today is my one year swap bot anniversary !! I have had such a wonderful time swapping, sharing, making new friends! It's been so awesome to explore different art forms. One year ago my swaps consisted of swapping note cards, stickers and stationary. Today I'm addicted to ATCs and mail art. I would, and have recommended this community to many people. The past three years were a struggle. I lost my husband to cancer at the age of 43 then my father and my grandfather this past year. Escaping into art has kept me sane! Thank you to all the wonderful partners who have sent happiness my way :-)
I enjoy reading and usually have three or four books going at one time. I read anything from biographies, history, romance, sci-fi, mystery, paranormal. It seems I have a compulsion to read all the books in any series...usually more than once. Currently reading the Divergent series.
All time favorites reveal my age lol...An Officer and a Gentleman, Dirty Dancing, and The Holiday strangely enough since I was never a Cameron Diaz or Judd Law fan, but absolutely LOVE them both in this movie!
Some of my favorites include True Blood...so sad it's over and Dexter...over too along with Breaking Bad, but I have all of them on DVD so sometimes I'll have a lazy weekend marathon :-) Grimm, CSI, Criminal Minds, American Horror Story and I love the history and discovery channel. Ancient Aliens anyone??
I have boxes and boxes of craft material that remain unopened.
UPDATE...I HAVE GONE THREW MANY OF MY BOXES...unfortunately I have added twice as much getting new stuff to make swaps. This is because it's absolutely necessary to have everything in every color! Am I right? I like paper art, altered art, collage, smash book and really want to try my hand at jewellery making or paper mache. I don't sew but would like to learn someday...I would love to make a quilt. I make soaps, bath salts, lotion bars, etc. Just getting into ATCs and really enjoying that. Started my first art journal...I call it"grunge-fitti"and I love the non structure...totally outside of my norm!
I collect miniature perfume bottles, tiny frogs, and faeries, and anything with the Eiffel Tower on it (I will make it to Paris someday). I like butterflies and dragonflies, steam punk, and vintage ephemera. I really like Tim Holtz and his style. Love old photos so feel free to send all those black and white pictures of relatives you don't know. I like owls and Alice in Wonderland too. My favorite colors tend to be turquoise and orange but sometimes that changes depending on my mood. I love gemstones and crystals, essential oils and I love handmade soaps. I like tea, most all kinds. Coffee is okay too. Love postcards!! And small souvenirs like magnets, keychains, pressed pennies, especially from other countries. I do love Hello Kitty and am old enough that I actually started my love affair with her when she first came out. I still have a few things from the early 70's. Love those cute little stationary sets.
I would prefer not to get Disney or cartoon stickers unless specified. Please no candy unless specified. If you have a question just ask. No politics or religion unless specified. I really dislike non-raters...I don't think acknowledging receipt of a swap is too much to ask!!
I put a lot of thought and care into the swaps that I send out and try hard to make my partners happy. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Be considerate enough to rate me...at least acknowledge you have received what I've sent ***if you do not receive in a timely matter please let me know. I have realized that gone for the most part is that three day mail time, but if you haven't received by the swap deadline PLEASE let me know. I generally send out my swaps well ahead of the deadline. Please communicate with me...whether you haven't received something, received with postage due, or received damaged...let me know so I can rectify it! I've never flaked and never intend to!
