July, 2018 Oh what a difference a couple of years can make! In November 2016 I went to work as Court Clerk in our local Justice of the Peace office. In late 2017 the judge didn't want to run for election, so I became the candidate. Still Court Clerk at this time but January 1, 2019 I will be the new Justice of the Peace.
December 19, 2016 Call me crazy, it doesn't bother me. The neighbors had a newborn lamb that was rejected by her mother so I brought her home to bottle feed.
November 7, 2016 I am coming our of retirement and going back to work. But I want to keep my tutoring students too! So I am dropping all swaps that haven't had partners assigned until it is clear to me that I will have time to do them properly.
September 21, 2016 Having shoulder surgery tomorrow. Am current on all my swaps and ratings. I may need some patience as I recover.

Do you want postage stamps? Not soaked off the paper, not trimmed, duplicates are a certainty, but they can be yours, just ask!
May 12, 2016 My mantra: "Less is more"
What does this mean in terms of Swap-Bot? Don't ever think you need to send me extras to get a heart, I have enough "stuff" already. A kind word or a compliment rates high with me!
March 7, 2016 I am studying German. If write to me in German, I would love that!
I have been doing mail swaps since the late 70's. (Yes, I'm old, but please don't hold that against me!)
"It's All Good" I view a swap as more about who the other person is and what they are inspired to create rather than who I am and what I would like to receive. That being said, please know that I am not picky and take great delight the wierd, the unusual and the outlandish, if that's what's in your heart to create and send! But if you are a more conservative swapper, that's good too.
If a swap is profile-specific, I probably won't join it, but if I do, rest assured that I will keep your profile in mind.
I'm a native Texan and proud of it! I'm an elementary teacher (retired June 2014!) by profession, but free a spirit by birth.
I'm very happily married tot he love of my life. I have 3 children, 5 step-children and grandmother/step-grandmother to 15. My "Grandma name" is Miss Connie and I like that just fine.
November 2015--I relearned (very basic) knitting. A nice craft for long road trips......
Spring 2015-After several failed attempts, I am finally "getting it" about keeping an art journal!

If the bus/train/boat/plane is going somewhere, I want to go to. It doesn't even matter where!
To get out of the house I enjoy letterboxing:

I enjoy tent camping and think I would like to spend an entire week in solitude with nature.

Buck-a canine whirlwind, Lady-ferocious German Shepherd (until you realize she has very few teeth)

John Grisham is one of my favorites, but I am always open to new suggestions. I don't do science fiction or lightweight romances.

As a Christian, I celebrate Christmas and Easter. As an American I celebrate Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and the list goes on....As a Texan with close ties to Hispanic culture, I celebrate Fiesta, Cinco de Mayo, Diez y Seis, and Dia de los Muertos. Sometimes those celebrations are just observed by drinking a beer and saying "Yep, it's (that day)!"
But this does not keep me from wanting to learn about your religious or cultural holidays, so feel free to share them with me!

I just featured your Very Visible Valentines swap on the Swap-bot blog here. Thanks for hosting such a unique Valentine's Day swap!
Your prize went in the mail today. Enjoy!
I enjoyed reading your profile and see you also like tongue-in-cheek humor, so hope you enjoy this BFL swap. I also see you like postcards. Tell me about the ones you keep. We are interested in learning how to carve our own stamps. I'm curious where you find reasonable supplies. Thanks so much for signing up and posting in my latest swap. Joan
