I am so glad that the surprise envie finally made it :) I was trying not to worry too much with international travel.....but that was a really long time. Enjoy :)
I may need your help again. I am 90% sure what I have is washi, but I'm looking for experienced people to tell me for sure. I may be going to Hong Kong in the next few days, so if you are able and willing, I will send you two samples of what I have and all you have to do is tell me if it is washi or not. Consider it a wish granted from the Friendlies group :) Just PM me with your address if you would like to help.
I know you speak Cantonese in Hong Kong because I went to school there for a year and a bit. My family is originally from China, but I was born, raised, and educated in Canada. I speak Mandarin at home, but I can't read or write, and I'm trying to teach myself the characters. I have a question, though: Where do you usually buy your washi tape? I went to a shopping centre in the ShaTin area and saw rolls of "masking" tape with different designs and patterns, so I assumed it was washi. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to washi.
Hey! I came across your profile by accident and noticed that you're in Hong Kong. I'm from Canada, but I bounce back and forth between Canada and China. In fact, right now, I'm not too far away from you (ShenZhen, so just over the mountains). You're the only person I know on SwapBot who is from China/Hong Kong.
