I'm a grad student in Massachusetts researching new technologies for music and theatrical performance. So I'm a computer scientist, a performing artist, and some combination of the two...as well as being a crafter, costume designer, and style blogger.
Sewing, including clothing and totes. Starting to learn how to use vintage sewing patterns. I collect vintage clothing patterns, particularly dress patterns from the 1950's and 1960's.
Refashioning (particularly clothing and jewelry). I love transforming something old that I wouldn't be able to use as is into something new that I enjoy.
Jewelry-making, especially beaded jewelry. (Someday I'll learn more metalworking and how to make lampwork beads!)
Scrapbooking
Fibre Crafts, including knitting, crochet, and cross-stitch.
Due to all of the above, I have a large stash of craft materials...which I love, since it's all full of potential and promise!
Here are just some suggestions of things I love/am inspired by/would be thrilled to receive in a swap, but I'm open to anything you'd like to send me!
Currently loving (in no particular order): Vintage sewing patterns (esp. 1940's - 1960's), vintage sewing notions (thread, buttons, zippers, etc.), lace, vintage ephemera/paper things, beach glass, beads, handmade paper, handmade anything, stickers, origami paper, shiny things, velvet, trims, red, silver, gold, pink, blue, green, purple, black, gray, vintage handkerchiefs, doilies/lace pieces, vintage photos, tissue paper, embroidery floss, little electronic components, ribbon, glitter, vintage fabric.
