If you are sending me a message about a swap, PLEASE let me know which swap you're referring to in your message. PLEASE message me through swap-bot, and not by email.
Swaps sent by me come from a smoke-free, cat-free house.
I love to read, work in my garden, and spend time with my dogs. My favorite guilty pleasures right now are romance novels, chocolate, and quilting. I also collect turtle statues to hide in places in my garden, although i'm not sure why. On the weekends I spend most of my time with my boyfriend, out and about on one of our Harleys, or working on projects for my historical reenactment group (medieval). I also have a huge gum chewing habit.
Here are some things i'd like to receive in a swap: Things that are turtle or boxer(the dog, not the underwear)themed, fabric or trim that you think is really neat, new or used romance novels you enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles (with all their pieces), mix cd's or tapes, recipies for your favorite foods, cookbooks or cooking magazines, really neat or interesting beads, funky socks, chapstick or lip gloss, candies from different countries, Indian or middle eastern themed items, medieval themed items, puzzle magazines (logic puzzles, sudoku, dell puzzle magazines), hair accessories (i have hip-length hair), sewing or quilting notions, fat quarters, unused US postage stamps, homemade fabric items like aprons and bags, address labels, and hand written penpal letters.
My favorite colors are blue and green, and sometimes pink.
ALLERGIES: I don't have any food allergies but I do, however, have an allergy to NICKEL, which is the metal that most inexpensive jewelry is made from. If you're sending me something in a swap, please do not send jewelry unless it specifically states that it is nickel-free. It's not that i wouldnt appreciate the gesture, but the horrible itchy hives that would result make me a bit leery of wearing metals i cannot identify.
DISLIKES: Mushrooms, Olives, Uncooked tomatoes, Anything even remotely coffee or tea flavored (that means no mocha or kahlua either), anything which includes swear words or racist or inappropriate messages, and nuts (except cashews, which are okay).
I enjoy country music, classical, rock, opera, pop, top-40, and world music. When i take long trips in the car, i always take along a book on tape/CD (see "favorite books" for ideas), or a tape/CD of a comedian, so that i can still have something to listen to in the radio deadzones.
My current guilty pleasure is romance novels, however i also enjoy sci-fi and fantasy novels.
I enjoy quilting, general sewing, costume-making, and more recently, needle lace.
I don't have a favorite sport, however i do have some LEAST FAVORITE teams... my least favorite teams are: Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Chicago White Sox
Its not that there's specifically anything wrong with these teams, but there's a bit of rivalry going on, and i'd never hear the end of it were i to be spotted with an item from one of these teams.
I've signed up for a few pet swaps, so here's the info on my pet. I have a 3 year old Boxer (dog) named Jasmine, and new boxer puppy named Ronan. Jasmine loves anything ducky (shaped like a duck, quacks like a duck, or has ducks on it), soft plush toys (which she eats, so please only dog appropriate soft toys), and things that squeak. She has uber-short hair so she does not need or use brushes and combs. Ronan is a puppy, and teething, so he enjoys rawhides (unflavored), toys that can be frozen, and smaller soft dog toys.
