I'm an accountant who prepares tax returns and financial accounts as a day job. I also have two little girls who occupy most of my time. I cherish the hours between 8pm and 10pm when they are asleep. I enjoy cooking (refer to my website) and sewing, when I can.
Classic rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Who and Rolling Stones. And who could forget Pink Floyd. They have such a timeless sound. I also enjoy relaxing to classical music.
I enjoy reading classics such as Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. How good are the BBC adaptations of the same? I'm currently reading the First Circle by Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn - don't ask me how to pronounce that name. Dialogue driven book, very interesting reading. On a related topic, I love Calvin and Hobbes. I have the entire collection.
Christian Bale movies, Clint Eastwood movies.... I'm really up for any type of movie except for horror. They give me the heebie-jeebies (thanks Calvin).
I am unable to watch much TV since having children, but I do manage to watch Breaking Bad. How evil is Hal (from the Malcom in the Middle days)? Also finished watching the Danish cop drama "The Killing" - so so good. It has of course ruined my taste for any type of US cop drama now. I look at it (e.g. like my former favourite "Castle") and go "That is NOT how it works!"
Even though all the stuff above is stuff I like, I guess you would like to know what to send me. Well I am not fussy, I love anything and everything.
But if you're really stuck for ideas:
-Handmade things like cards, paper. Or anything.
-Ribbon, fabric and all sorts of haberdashery e.g. natural fibres like linen, cute buttons, hardware for bag making (D-rings!)
-Recipes - postcards or recipe cards (handmade or otherwise!)
-Rubber stamps
-Anything cat related, other animals are welcome too.
-Traditional Japanese art
-All colours
-Patterns, especially prints of animals. But you know, polka dots, stripes, bows and whatnot.
-Alice in Wonderland, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen.
-Stuff from the Victorian era eg. ephemera, handwriting style, materials and haberdashery inspired from that era.
