I've had serious surgeries twice (one to repair one of my heart valves and another to take out a rather large mass in my abdomen - fortunately, NOT cancerous!) in that time as well as an amazing trip to India. I've missed swapping and so will get started again s-l-o-w-l-y.
I DO NOT FLAKE. If you haven't received your swap, please let me know and I'll resend it or find a way to make it right. It is VERY important to me that you receive whatever it was that you were supposed to from me.

Yes, I do reuse packaging and I encourage you to do so too. :)
I love swapping - I love the challenge of making something for someone I don't know (and hopefully they will love it)- I love gaining friends all over the place, and of course seeing what they've made for me. I DO tend to get over-enthusiastic and sign up for a whole bunch swaps never realizing they all are happening at the same time....and then I get behind. But I do try to make it up to my swap-pals when I'm late by sending extra stuff.
I have 3 kids - one is college age (how did that happen?! I'm too young!), 2 slap-happy dogs and an absent-mindedly evil cat. I live way down South, love knitting, gardening, reading, good food, friends, laughter and having way too many irons in the fire. Oh and I have a husband too. He's an engineer and a great guy. We still make each other laugh even though we disagree about almost everything. It's been over 20 years and we're used to it. :o)
What I'm really into is God, music and making the world a better place. I'm a member of the Baha'i Faith - if you haven't heard about it, you should absolutely check it out; it's amazing.
I sing, and until last fall I directed the One Human Family Community Choir - a multi-faith gospel choir for the last 7 or 8 years. I teach voice and a bunch of other things, and I collect music; I have a serious CD habit. My specialties are: Blues, Gospel, Christmas and Children's music.
I like most every kind of music....'cept for opera and death metal.
I love to knit...and I'm getting back into sewing. (I should have my head examined.....) I also crochet and a number of other things, but knitting is my main focus these days.
Sterling silver dangly earrings.
I love chocolate, strawberry, butterscotch, toffee, grape, orange, tea and coffee. I dislike cherry, mango, coconut and I cannot eat ANYTHING with mint in it (it makes me unhappy because I used to love the taste and smell of mint, but now it makes me nauseous).
Jasmine, honeysuckle, gardenia, lilac, violet and grapefruit. Not all mixed together, mind you....
I'm very fond of jewel tones with the empahsis on blues , greens and purple. Black and clear reds are good too. No variegated yarns please, and something washable is preferred.
Noro Silk Garden, Shepherd's Wool, Ultra Alpaca (yes, I'm a yarn snob....)

Hello. I am your partner for the $25 Amazon swap and the YA book swap. I know you've had surgery recently, but I just wanted to see if you had any idea when you'd be able to send the swap items. Normally I'd let it slide and not say anything, but $25-$40 is a lot to invest in swaps and not get nothing in return. I'm not in a huge hurry, but I would like to know if you will be sending the swap items in the near future (or at all). Thanks.
hey Helen,
I hope you're doing better. I still haven't received the 40 things email survey swap from April.

I love the voice lesson on the CD. That was awesome. lol
Hope your surgery goes well and you are able to be swapping again soon!
Wanted to let you know that your $25 Amazon Wishlist swap will be arriving in two separate boxes. (I'm not sure why Amazon did that.) I think I only put a gift message on one item's comment section, so I wanted you to know that there are actually two boxes from me on the way. Hope you enjoy them! :)
