My art interests have grown and changed quite a bit in the last year. I started art journaling and have moved on to some larger scale works. I don't have a favorite media to work with, I love it all!
My favorite art supplies: Pens, pencils, markers, watercolors, paints, ephemera (old ticket stubs, book pages, old cards, old photos, etc.), embroidery supplies, old make-up (eyeshadow works great, like a chalk pastel!), needle felting wool and tools, pastels, scrapbooking implements...I like to play around and use things that you wouldn't normally think of as art supplies.
I like finding strange things at the thrift store, or taking something old and ugly and spruce it up so it's new and cool.
I'm 24, and I live in Lincoln, NE, land of the Cornhuskers. I have 2 cats. They pretty much rule my life. Widget is a siamese colored munchkin, and Rico, my funny little black cat.
I was a music student for a few years, but decided that it wasn't for me. Now I just work and make crafts. It's a rewarding life.
What I'm into: Color!, bizarre piggy banks (i have a great monkey bank), funny sweaters, needle felted anything, neat little knitted and crocheted items, cool posters, strange advertisements, odds and ends, doodads, thingamabobs, stickers, neat paintings/wall art, and much more.
I have few definite 'likes' and 'dislikes', I will respect anything that is handmade for me. And if it doesn't suit me, I am sure it can find a loving home with one of my many crafty friends.
I love world religions, and adore images and items from asian religions, and mexican catholic images. I don't really care for christianity or any christian related items.
Favorite authors: Chuck Palahniuk, John Irving, Christopher Hitchens, Sarah Vowell, Harlan Ellison.
Get me something you would be excited to get!
I always love to get new (new to me, anyways) art supplies! I can use almost anything in my art journaling/general art making!
I'm a mid-twentysomething hippy artist cat lady who loves all things strange and colorful. Use your best judgement.
Did I mention I love unique piggy/non-piggy banks? What kinds of piggy banks do I love?: Ceramic, metal, plastic, wood, new, old, funny, ugly, awesome, colorful, pretty, handmade, grade school art project....All shapes and sizes of piggy bank are welcome here!
My husband is a police officer, so related images and items are always appreciated.
I like vintage/antique/retro/funky things: Salt and pepper shakers, dish towels, jewelry, piggy banks, jewelry, old political campaign buttons, old advertisements, old toys, shadow boxes, etc.
I like things that are ironic and/or unintentionally funny.
Any sort of bizarre/strange wall decorations are always welcome.
I will copycat my older sister and also add that I enjoy children's art and sculpture/grade school art projects that end up at thrift stores.
I'm pretty sarcastic, and my sense of humor can be quite dry, if you can't find me something I like, find me something I would like to make fun of!
