Aircraft engineer by day.... Crafting maven by night. I love to mix my technical engineering skills with my left-brain creativity. I've been creating and crafting all my life, following traditions of sewing and quilting from my mother and grandmother. Always under the watchful supervision of my cats. Yes, that's right, another woman that crafts and has cats... They are always interested in my activities and have yet to render a criticism. I've got two backyard hens and a tiny veggie garden. My career job is often extremely stressful and I couldn't have endured it for the 30+ years I've been at it without the mental retreat and creativity found in my crafting.

I listen to all genres, but my most serious and studious are classic and west-coast jazz. Anything from Original Dixieland to Chet Baker California cool. While creating though, I'm listening to psychedelic rock from the 60's, to Bollywood, to classical, to Amy Winehouse. Gotta love Pandora, mood change - station change.

Repurposing vintage finds of all sorts, Ephemera collage, rubber stamping, handmade gemstone jewelry, decorative painting (Rosemaling, Tole), Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter Eggs), sewing, quilting, stuffies. I don't know if there's a genre of crafting that I haven't at least given a try... No plastic canvas needlepoint, yeah I'm not down with that. I wish they had put out all these new Zentangle coloring books when I was a kid, although, I stay inside the lines now (mostly). Copic markers, watercolor pencils, and glitter gel pens are favs. Who doesn't love a good junk bin or box. I love clawing through a box of misc crap at swap meets or antique shops. I really like to put together mixed media - on an art doll, on a card/papercraft, diorama.. Using bits from my collected stuff jars. Who hasn't collected some component and said "oohhh I don't know what to do with this right now, but I've got to have it"?

No time for TV... time is better spent making ART! Sometimes I have it on in the background - I'm not into watching any particular series. I do like to see documentaries or concerts.
