i think books are a lot like people, they number over a billion, and can be placed in fixed sets and same categories, but can be as diverse as the gazillion stars in the milky way, so in the same way that i could list people who affected me when i was younger, i could also list books that affected me as a kid, i memorialize hope for the flowers, nicaragua for beginners, lenin for beginners, economists for beginners, ikabod bubwit, hagar the horrible, gapo, nancy drew, the hardy boys, jonathan livingston seagull, heidi, adventures of tom sawyer and huckleberry finn, anne of green gables, the joy luck club's prologue-the thing about the feather, five find outers and a dog, boxcar children, adventures of sherlock holmes, edgar allan poe's scary stories, twisted, and my mom's collection of reader's digest from before i was born, i swear i read all of these by the time i was 9, blame it on an aunt who thought a very young bookworm was amazingly adorable, or blame it on my asthma
i love movies, they're like portals to alternate and parallel worlds and times, they let me live my secret lives without having to go through the looking glass like alice, i enjoy movies so much i watch anything and everything that isn't r-rated, but of course, like the comfy overlarge shirt i "inherited from my aunt or the batik pj's i had since elementary, there are also movies with not so great storylines, acting, and credits, that i would still watch over and over again, if i can have comfort food then here are some of my comfort movies, aladdin, peter pan, the lion king, mulan, 101 dalmatians, the lord's edges, conair, under the tuscan sun, seabiscuit, never been kissed, notting hill, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, shanghai noon, the emperor's club, the italian job, ocean's 11, who am i, corpse bride, kurtlar vadisi irak, big fish, shrek, the gods must be crazy, and chocolat, i've also recently (3 years ago) developed a penchant for indie films, pinoy or otherwise... only you (not the one with pinoy actors, but the one set in italy)
i don't have my own particular brand of music, i go for whatever fits my mood, but i have this tendency to not like whatever genre is in, but i like most of the "classics, songs by the likes of james taylor, barbara streisand and paul williams, maybe because i grew up listening to them in the car while being driven to and from school, i like evanescence, sixpence none the richer, and no doubt, i also like s club 7, the corrs and atomic kitten, i love panic at the disco!, my chemical romance, the all american rejects and maybe, the dave matthews band, and absolutely adore selena even if she's dead, in the local scene, i have a liking for "older bands, like yano and its santong kabayo, wonder whatever happened to them, the eraserheads and parokya ni edgar, rivermaya i also like rocksteddy, and kamikaze, and i've always been a fan of the ambassadors, and i've recently discovered tropical depression, but because they're what's in, i've become so into tori amos right now... and into all types of asian pop too
hello all, i just want to warn you ahead that my international mail averages 30 to 45 days before it reaches anywhere... on record, earliest it's reached anybody is 22 days, latest is around 3 months... please don't ask me why this is so, 'cause frankly i think only the people in the post office knows (or do they?)... please have faith in me when i click the sent button, i would never never click the sent button unless i've already really sent the swap item, so please trust me a bit, and pardon me for the limitations of my country's postal service... n_n

Your letter arrived yesterday. Not sure what happened to it on the way to me but it just came in the mail yesterday and it was amazing. Thank you for sharing it with me.
