Hi and Hello!!!

UPDATED 15 July 2013

Just got back from Southern California!! I have a brand new grandson named Jackson. He came into the world on 13 July in the wee hours of the morning.

I'm a very happy Noani!!

About Me

I am a 2nd generation born and raised Las Vegas native (nativegan - NOT a vegan :o) ) w/ 2 boys. They are Ryan (age 13) and Jakob (age 15). I'm hoping that my boys and I will get photos and postcards from around the world.

I live in Arizona now and I don't miss the traffic at all!! :o) We enjoy spending time out on the lake enjoying the landscape and water.

I work with my hubs at our Residential Design firm that he started more than 30 years ago. It is my passion and very much a part of our family.

My F-I-L, who is 87, has Alzheimer's. He broke his hip at the start of the year and is having a very difficult recovery after 2 surgeries to correct it. He is a very important part of our family and his health and well-being will take precedence over anything else. That being said, there is always a risk that I may need to send late. Should this happen I will notify all partners and coordinators as soon as I can.

My Favorite Postcards

I love to receive photos/postcards of cool OLD architecture. I also like vintage photos of Las Vegas which are hard to come by!! I also enjoy the following:

  • Scenery

  • City Views - especially night views

  • Houses - especially the front door of the house. So much can be said about a house just by looking at the door.

  • Old buildings

  • Museum art cards

  • Mountains

  • Animals

  • Another Day in Paradise

PLEASE no ad/free cards

Favorite Crafts

I'm VERY addicted to Zentangles. I enjoy the 3.5" square tiles the most but ATC sizes are nice to practice on. I've tangled postcards, Christmas cards and a rubber duck which is harder than it sounds. I'm always looking for different surfaces and objects to tangle.

I also do a little bead work once in a while, mostly simple things like key-chains, book thongs (book marks) and rosaries. Some day I hope to learn bead weaving and Victorian beading. The works of art created with such detail are amazing.

I have an endless collection of beads in the hopes of finding great new projects to work on. Easy projects that break up the monotony of the day are my favorite, especially in the morning before the work day begins. It's the best way to get the creative juices moving. :o)

My other favorite craft is making envelopes. I've always loved the millions of different scrapbook papers but I just can't get into traditional scrapbooking. So, I use the sheets to make envelopes for all of my swaps when I am able.

Favorite Colors

I love lime greens, blues, greys and purples, especially in a combination.

I love red but can't wear the color red at all.

Bright orange (NOT NEON) can be lots of fun for crafting.

I do not like neon colors, not too fond of pastels.

People...

RATINGS

The poor ratings were for swaps sent late due to circumstances beyond my control. Please see the "About Me" portion of my profile.

If you are reviewing my profile as part of the approval process for swaps I have joined I hope that you will look at the overall success of my history (hearts and 5's) and not focus on the unfortunate ratings.

It's unfortunate that most recipients are not understanding and rate as they do. Sometimes LIFE gets in the way, what can you do?

Thank you in advance for your understanding. It is very much appreciated!!

As always, if you are missing a swap please let me know ASAP before giving me a negative rating. THANKS!!

I (more often than not) go above and beyond swap requirements. If I'm going to be late, I let my partners know. Also, I put a lot of time and effort in my swaps to make them something I would like to receive.

That being said, if anyone is interested in private swaps, send me a message and let's swap!

**DISLIKES**

  • People who judge others.

  • Flakers.

  • Swap Drama! We are all on this site because we enjoy crafts and receiving mail. There is enough drama in the world without creating drama in a place we often go to escape drama - make sense??

  • Disrespectful people.

  • People who don't communicate. Ever.

  • Receiving swaps that obviously had very little thought or effort put into them.

  • Paper scraps - I generate enough with my envelope making and other crafts. Please do not send me more.

  • Smoke - allergic

Instructions: Card front: Cut 5½”x11” black cardstock, score at 5½” and fold to form a 5½” square card. Place the fold on the left. Glue a 5¼” square gold sparkles holographic paper centered. Mat a 4¾” ivory cardstock square on black cardstock with 1/8” borders. Glue centered. Use the largest scalloped oval cutting die to cut a scalloped oval from black cardstock. Use the largest doily cutting die to cut a doily from ivory cardstock, and set the inner oval aside for later. Trim the doily center, following the dots along the inside for a smooth inner oval window. Glue the doily centered on the scalloped oval mat, and glue to the card front. Use the Flower #3 cutting die to cut two sets of pink cardstock petals, two sets of pink hearts holographic petals, and two sets of ivory cardstock petals. Use the Flower #1 cutting die to cut two sets of gold sparkle holographic petals. Use the pine sprigs cutting die to cut four sets from green cardstock. Use the flower stem cutting die to cut three sets of stems from green cardstock. Use the Paper Tool Kit to shape the petals and leaves. Assemble three flowers as shown, starting with the largest petal first and layering smaller ones on top. Mix up the patterns. Attach each petal at the top with a Zot™ so the flowers keep their shape. Foam tape to the card with a doublelayer of foam tape (so they keep their shape). Glue a stem beneath each flower. Cut the pine sprigs apart, and place around the flowers.
