I am a quirky, petite, Italian girl who's in love with photography...and food. Those two are battling for favorite at the moment. I recently moved back to FL after living in NY for 8 years (and I miss it terribly)! My hobbies include walking, cooking/baking, photography, visiting museums, crafting, trying new things. My husband and I just bought our first house and are excited to make it a home.
I am a wedding photographer and just love being a part of the most important day of people's lives. I love soaking in other people's happiness. And those vows?! I'm lucky if I can make it through a wedding without crying.
Sustainability is important to me. This is a recent interest but I've become very passionate about eliminating waste and being more conscious of how I'm contributing to environmental problems. It's easy to take the first steps (i.e. reusable shopping bags, cloth towels instead of napkins, composting, etc) but can get overwhelming. I just tell myself any change I can make is better than what I was doing before.
Some other things I like include:
Harry Potter, 100% yes. I'm not a fan of Twilight, definitely not. I love Michael Crichton, which is surprising because I'm not big into sci-fi books otherwise. Nonfiction (or nonfiction inspired) humor is my absolute favorite genre. I am just a big fan of laughing :) Recently, I've been reading Maeve Binchy. I don't usually read those types of stories but she's a great writer. Also, books about food or written by chefs are a favorite genre.
Anything folksy acoustic. Also Queen, Billy Joel, Elton John, John Denver, anything from the 80s. I have an eclectic taste when it comes to music and depending on my mood, will listen to anything from worldbeat to jazz, to rock. I'm not a big fan of country unless it's got a bit of pop and definitely not a fan of heavy metal.
All time favorite movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Anything Disney/Pixar. I really like NASA space movies, The Martian is a favorite. I like a lot of indie films and dark comedies.
My 5 desert island movies:
Knitting/crocheting, jewelry making, mixed media, drawing, painting. I want to get into watercolor but I haven't had too much time to craft lately.
I love trying new things. I just started making a list of things I want to get to eventually (hopefully sooner rather than later):
*watercolor painting
*calligraphy
*ukelele (I have one I play occasionally)
*magazine crafts
*write my own cookbook
*gesture drawings (I did this in college)
*macrame
*chocolate candy making
*fruit dehydrating
