I tend to read a lot of mysteries, but I love getting recommendations for any genre. I pretty rarely read romance because I find it boring unless there's something else going on as well. Some of the best book recommendations I've ever gotten were assigned class readings, but maybe that's just because of how much I've learned from books that I never would have picked up on my own.
Hello! My name is Ren! I'm a recently-graduated English Literature major, and I love to read and draw! I miss writing letters to penpals like I used to, so I'd love to participate in some swaps!
My favorite color is pink, and I love strawberries. I also love to draw, and I like to make sticker collages. I love the messy, brightly colored chaos of just throwing a bunch of stickers on top of each other, and I've got about 10 of them on my wall right now.
I have a dog! He's a yorkie/daschund mix, so I call him a "dorkie" and his name is Baby.
I don't really have a favorite genre of tv show, but my three favorites right now are Doctor Who (I love the campy sci-fi effects and the fun plots. Not caught up on the latest seasons though), Community (my go-to comedy. I've seen it several times so the familiarity is a comfort to me), and Madoka Magica (a visually beautiful play on the magical girl anime genre with interesting themes and visual symbolism).
This information probably isn't quite relevant to swaps, but it's a way to get to know me, so here it is:
I love mystery stories and games! I've recently been revisiting the Professor Layton DS games I used to play as a kid, and I really enjoy both the Ace Attorney and Zero Escape games as well. It's interesting to replay the Layton games as an adult because I understand a lot more of the puzzles. I remember being 8 years old and absolutely devastated because I couldn't solve a puzzle and I ran out of hints. Still, some of the puzzles continue to stump me, so it's a fun challenge!
I also really like theatre, Shakespeare, and stories of all kinds.
I adore tea. All types except matcha and rooibos (but I love to share tea with friends, so if you send one of those flavors in a tea swap it won't go unappreciated!).
I have a fairly large collection of various teabags that I like to keep, both for myself and for when friends come over so that they can have a variety of options. I love trying new flavors, but I tend to gravitate most towards green teas and fruit teas. Still, I'm willing to try pretty much anything!
I also hate coffee, as many tea drinkers I've met do.
I don't watch movies very often, as I prefer other types of media like tv shows and books. However, one thing about me is that sometimes I will consume a piece of media and it will become so ingrained in my mind that I have to incorporate it into my personality. Such is the case with both Dead Poets Society and Clue (yes, the one based on the board game).
