Hi there! I'm Laura.

I'm a newbie for now....

I'm a 36 year-old mama to a spicy 3 year-old named Benjamin. I recently moved from Arizona to Long Island, New York and so far the winter is kicking my bum!

I have previously worked as a Montessori teacher of 3-6 year-olds but right now I'm trying to figure out my next move here on the East Coast.

I love discovering new music. My tastes vary from pop to oldies to alternative to rock and some country. I also enjoy listening to ambient soundtracks, like "Rainy Day Cafe" or "Thunderstorm". There's a really cool website called ambient-mixer.com where you can even create your own ambient soundtrack from a massive library of sounds.

One of my goals is to become an avid reader again. I read a lot as a kid but haven't done much as an adult. I recently checked out Drew Barrymore's "Rebel Homemaker" from the library and my goal is to actually read it. We'll see!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my all-time favorite show. I rewatch it often, as well as the YouTube review videos by Passion of the Nerd.

I also got into New Girl but never finished it.

Other than that I don't really watch any other shows.

My favorite favorite thing is washi tape! I love collecting new kinds. Basically if you send me some you are guaranteed a heart! Now I just need to find a way to use them!

Crafting-wise, I am all over the place. I have supplies for just about anything, including:

• paper crafts
• shrinky dinks
• washi tape and stickers
• rubber stamping
• drawing/coloring/painting
• I have a Cricut and a Dremel
• sewing
• silicone molds for fun crayon/wax shapes
• screen printing

The problem is deciding what to make! Sometimes I feel artistically blocked, so I'm hoping that joining swaps will help get me creating something.
