Retired...finally doing what I enjoy! Love to make ATC's, Art Journals, collages, and swap with other artists. Just took a course in altered books and making small books.
I fundraise for one non-profit organization where disabled kids come to ride horses for therapy and another that raises money for our local pet shelter with many needs. I decided it was time to pay back some of the good things life has given to me. Also adopted an 8 yr. old Papillion dog and he is the light of my life!
I make jewelry to give as gifts, love to "go to lunch" with my friends...and shopping (I have been a personal shopper in the past four years)! But, my favorite past time is making anything creative (& swapping), photography, movies, traveling, and reading.
The Eagles, Michael Buble, Tia Sellers, INXS, Elvis, Tina Turner, Alicia Keyes, Chuck Berry (I live by him), Zucchero, and all the really old '50's music.
Little Miss Sunshine, Harold and Maude, Secondhand Lions, The Way We Were, Indiana Jones, James Bond (with Sean Connery) and the black and white films made in the '40's. Love most independent films, and anything that makes me laugh. I seem to have a warped sense of humor.
The Good Wife, House, Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal, Grey's Anatomy, The Daily Show, Ugly Betty, American Idol, and the Sopranos. My husband and I also watch a lot of Animal Planet and Discovery shows together. The "Planet Earth" series was our most favorite!
Collage, making little books, zines, cards, and ATC's, using my photography in artistic projects like Journals, making jewelry, and learning anything new and creative. I also love animals, especially dogs and cats, and make cards and jewelry for our local Humane Society to sell in their gift shop. We just adopted an 8 year old Papillion dog and love him dearly...he is SO tiny and cute! My last dog weighed 110 pounds.
Although I don't have children (or grandchildren) of my own, my nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews are my priority. I love them all and would do anything to help them be happy!
I am a voracious reader, especially mysteries by James Patterson, anything by Stephen King, Sue Grafton, Tami Hoag, David Balducci, Janet Evanovich, and most bestselling authors. In my spare time I also write short stories just for my own amusement. I love, journals, notebooks of any kind and handmade papers for collage. Just had a book published on Amazon called: RETIREMENT SURVIVAL GUIDE.
I finally got to make a trip to Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and France. It was awesome! And took a LOT of photos and have a lot of great memories! Went to Ireland about 7 years ago and love it too. Wish I could afford to travel more.
OK...I admit it, I am a pack rat! Just ask my husband. I have one room in our house that is my art/photo/collage/card/ATC/storage/computer/office and it is FILLED with paper, pens, a computer, two printers, two desks, a work table, two bookshelves with books galore, CD's to find my muse, and a closet converted into shelves that are also completely filled with "stuff". My hope is someday to get organized. I should attend meetings!
