About Me

I was bought up and lived in Quorn; Leicestershire, England until my DH decided he wanted to marry me ten years ago, I then flew over the pond to live in beautiful Connecticut.

I have two sons. We have just moved into our new home.

My free time (LOL) is taken up with my family, friends and my passion for altered arts in paper and fabric.

LIKES:

Flea markets, tag sales and thrift stores.

Homemade cakes, scones and cookies, or at least taste like they are fresh from my kitchen ï¿Š

Colors – warm tones like chocolate and plum, old rose etc. Purple. Anything with a vintage look after being washed and loved. I also like lime green and hot pink when mixed with chocolate brown or other warm tones. Vintage fabrics, silk and cotton, lace, hand embroidered pieces, little fabric pieces and trims/bits that I can use in my fabric work, fabric books and mini fabric collages, old lace and ribbons. Vintage buttons, embroidery threads, old wooden reels of silk and cotton thread, Rayon seam binding. Vintage milininery flowers.

Vintage tablecloths and napkins in any state.

Chandlier prisims.

Vintage receipie books, recipie cards – hand written or old ones.

Old Children’s books like primers and fairy tales.

Old jewellery in any state to play with, like broken strands of pearls, or odd earings.

Pin cushions, especially strawberries and tomatoes (really have a thing for them) and old velvet ones.

Chocolate – good quality any flavor, especially into a Swiss Rubarb and Aloe at the moment!

Birds – small finches, sparrows, English robins.

Flowers, especially lilly of the valley, pansies and roses.

Old photos, vintage and edwardian postcards, vintage french photo postcards, vintage wallpaper Watercolor paints, fine painting brushes, drawing pencils, ink pens – old and new, watercolor paper and pads.

DISLIKES (NOT MANY):

Gifts with no thought.

50’s/60 ceramics.

Mugs.

Plastic anything if I can help it :-)

American chocolate like Hershey brand - after ten years of living in the States I still cannot eat it!

Flavoured teas EXCEPT Earl Grey and Jasmine and uncafinated beverages – coffee should contain caffine I NEED IT :-)

Response: Rhonda, I really dislike your comment "how hard is it", without even emailing me about the bag first. This swap ended on March 26th, it has taken you nearly three months to rate me! I even emailed you on April 25th to see if you had received the bag and to ask you to then to rate me. I sent you a beautiful bag via Priority Mail a week before the swap deadline - see my blog and flicker for photos of it. However, I understand things do get lost in the mail, and will have to make you a new bag, but unfortunately it will not be for sometime as I have just moved into a new house and my supplies are still in boxes. So a new bag should be with you within the next four weeks. Paula aka UK Girl
