My job still kicks my butt, but I'm givin back some of the butt kickin! Yeah! Thanks, guys, for your understanding and patience and your generous ratings. Ok, close enough.
Just step away from the viola and we won't have to resort to violence.
I have been an airbrush artist for over 30 years, but since closing a full time business last year, I'm kind of taking a hiatus on that and am doing other stuff like mosaics and making jewelry-- vintage, recycled, repurposed, found objects, sterling, copper, semi-precious, lampwork glass, etc. etc.
Four lovely children, one wonderful husband and two sublime grandkids. Dog and cats. Never enough time for everything.
I am a Christian; I won't shove anything at you because that's not the way to love people. That's not the way Jesus loves people. I won't send you 'religious' stuff unless it's specifically okay with you. I don't like 'religion' myself. I think it removes the focus from God and places it on man made rules and requirements rather than on knowing Jesus. On the other hand, it irritates me when people jump all over Christians for being, well, Christian and for saying we believe we're right. Well, of course I do. Don't you think you're right??
Likes and Dislikes: I'm open minded, adventurous and easy to get along with, I think, so there aren't too many things I can think of that I don't like.
Liver. I don't like liver, but chances are pretty slim that'll be involved in a swap. I hope.
I love: purple; deeps and plums and dusty
blues and greens together
spice colors
coffee-no flavors, just plain varieties, please
tea-not plain green or berry flavors. English and Irish breakfast is good, chai, just about anything else.
chocolate, especially sea salt. Milk or dark but not more than 60%
little cute fat birds
pansies
old ephemera; postcards and such
fabric swatches
teeny ceramic tiles for mosaic
handmade paper
good glass beads either vintage or new
steampunk
cool bits of rusty metal. Seriously.
tiny ceramic or glass vessels
old buttons; new ones, too
I don't like: the aforementioned liver. shudder or plastic jewelry
I can't think of anything else right now, but I'll edit as stuff comes to mind
Drawing, painting, ATCs, jewelry--glass beads, wire wrap or linked--sewing, mosaic. I'm finding that I love more simple art. I used to make a huge fancy-schmancy production out of everything, so I didn't get as much done 'cause it had to be perfect! I'm enjoying letting that go. Somewhat.
Things I'd like, specifically:
Really pretty paper, scrapbooking, handmade or origami. I like color and texture.
Fabric scraps--big enough to use for dotees or collages or business card holders. I really like the ones that have Japanese type prints, silhouette prints of leaves or birds; just some more modern, recent stuff than the heavy tapestry and calicoes that I have.
Broken china for mosaics. Don't throw that saucer away!
Scrapbooking bits--I don't scrapbook, but I really like the little bits of flotsam and jetsam. The die cuts and cool little pins and brads and stuff like that I find fascinating.
Little boxes--cardboard, heavy paper or wooden. Not real flat ones (I have those), and not the empty jewelry store ones (I have those, too).
Cool handmade cards and other stuff.
I'd like different stuff than what I already have. Surprise me!! As long as you put a little care and effort into it, I'm gonna love it.
earrings
cool pens and pencils. If you have Ebony pencils laying around that you don't want, send 'em on!
I love rubber stamps, and I don't have any. I'm afraid to start buying them for fear I'll just go way overboard on them. A few little ones would be welcome for use on ATCs.
I have lots of beads that I'm trying to destash from when I started jewelry making. My tastes and techniques have changed, and I'm pretty picky about them. If you do send me some and I can't use them, I still appreciate them and will pass them on to someone else.
I will appreciate anything you decide to throw in a swap envelope.
I like making other people happy with swaps and I will always put my best effort into them; I ask that you do the same! I'm here to have fun!
I don't do FBs, slams or decos, but I don't sign up for those swaps, either. I doubt if I'll just randomly get them. I'm just sayin'. Please, no Wiccan/Pagan, Eastern religion kind of stuff. Respect my beliefs and I'll do the same for you.
