All's fine with me. Just killing myself planting my vegetable garden and keeping ahead of the weeds in the flower gardens. Thanks for the profile Hi. Hope spring is treating you well!

I have too much on my mind and can't sleep so I came back. I'd love to see you. And a few others too.

I'll always admire you & Diane for many things and of course I'm happy to be one of the girls in that other world. I miss your beautiful picture and hope it will be up again someday.

VivaLaDiane on May 13, 2013:

I agree with you as well as see the points that you're saying. We won't always think nor feel alike but I love that we are able to still have love for each other. Thanks so much for the refreshingly rare friendship. I adore you. ♥

I definitely agree with seeing it differently. I can't imagine what it's like when your kids, or anyones is the victim of targeted racism. I don't find the history of what's happened or is still happening to non Caucasian people funny. What I find funny are people perspectives on current cultures... like ghetto or redneck jokes.

But personally attacking people is never going to be funny. When I was a sophomore my locker was written on. The largest words were "N... lover" and I'm assuming it's because the majority of my friends were not white. Not funny whether that stuff is done to me or anyone else. And telling a joke inserting the N word isn't funny either. It's almost like wanting a pass to say a slur in the midst of a joke. That type of shit isn't humorous to me. But jokes about stereotypical things -as long as it isn't too inflammatory don't bother me.

VivaLaDiane on May 13, 2013:

I find the stuff that Katt Williams, Bernie Mac, Richard Pryor etc say about non black people to be funny. I also find stuff that George Carlin, Louis CK, Daniel Tosh etc say about non white people to be funny. I laugh at far too many inappropriate things. Jokes about religious stuff, rape, abortion. There's just a line there for me -when jokes become a literal hatred for something. That isn't humor anymore. Or prefacing something with "I really hate the way _____ kinds of people do something." Involving hate makes it become not humor. I don't take it personally. Non gay people rip on gays and I don't find the offense. If its funny, then I'm laughing. If there's a tone that speaks to hate -I just avoid it/them. I see where feelings could get hurt but I'd be a hypocrite if I said I've never joked about something I wasn't. I joke on blondes, skinny people, have told different jokes on religions, on Republicans, on straight people...etc. I didn't mean for anything I put to offend anyone especially my friends.
