Hi, I'm Natty!
By day I work at a local tattoo shop (running the counter, not an artist haha) and by night I'm a cross stitcher & crafter.
I enjoy spending time at home with my dog (a Corgi named Bear), my cat (a creamy beige named Beans, she has no thoughts in her head) and my sister (who has lots of thoughts).
I also love photography and traveling. In the past 3 years I've traveled to 10 different countries, all solo trips. I feel like I've learned new things about myself on every trip. Traveling also gives me a chance to practice my photography skills.
I also enjoying hiking, reading, gardening, cooking/baking, watching horror movies, playing N64 video games, swapping postcards, meeting new people and being crafty/creative.
Cross Stitching, Making patches on my embroidery machine, Perler Beads, Polymer Clay Charms, Rock Painting, Coloring/Painting, Photography, Collage Making, Bug Pinning and Taxidermy
I've recently been watching a lot of horror movies, but I also love sci-fi, action and comedies. Some of my very favorite movies are below.
Mad Max: Fury Road, The Matrix, Waterworld, The Fifth Element, Midsommar, The Black Swan, Kill Bill, The Devil Wears Prada, The Thing, Alien, Fight Club, Studio Ghibli movies, and Older Disney movies from the renaissance (think Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, Mulan, Little Mermaid)
I'm also a big fan of the director Quentin Tarantino and A24 movies.
I don't watch a ton of tv shows, I prefer movies but my favorite shows are the following.
Mad Men, Breaking Bad, White Lotus, The Pitt, The Righteous Gemstones, Joe Pera Talks with You, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, The Adventures of Pete and Pete and Adult Swim Shows (Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021)
I've been trying to get back into reading. I read a lot as a kid, but I feel like my brain is talking too loud and I get distracted these days. Creating an account on Good Reads has helped, it allows me to set goals. Here are some books I've read recently that I really enjoyed.
The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon, Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy, The Lamb by Lucy Rose, The Best Little Motel in Texas by Lyla Lane and The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett
I'm also a big fan of Chuck Palahniuk and Barbara Kingsolver.
A few other things I should probably mention - I'm a big advocate for mental health. Myself and my family have had struggles in the past, and I'm trying to take extra care of myself and needs. I like to talk openly about it to end the stigma!
I'm part of the LGBTQIA+ community!
There isn't much I don't like and I'm always interested in new things and new perspectives. As long as it's something you'd also like to receive, I'm sure I'll be happy with it. :)
The only thing I absolutely do not want is anything made with AI (not sure of the AI policy on this site) but I'd rather you create something with your own hands/tools! I will appreciate that so much more.
Thanks for reading!
