Hello everyone!
If you ever liked Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, go see the documentary, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” I think it lives up to the hype.
If there's a problem or concern with a swap (postage due or something else), please send me a message. I'm sure we can work something out. 2018 Note: For curious minds, I get mail at two different homes these days. If we swap often and you notice an address change, don’t worry. I’ll get your mail whichever address you used.
I like both vintage and modern looks. Favorite color: changes daily. I have lots of blue, silver, deep red, black and white, soft greens. I try to welcome all colors - no discrimination. Currently into: ATCs, collage, knitting, and making charms. Have a soft spot for all things vintage. Basically, I like to make things - it's soothing.
Favorite Crafts: ATCs, knitting scarves and dish cloths, making matchboxes, magnets, and altered charms, collage, getting messy with inks and paint. I like paper crafts of all sorts. Very fond of rubber stamps, especially vintage inspired, artsy, quirky and mail themed ones.
Currently looking for: Cloth napkins (cotton print, all colors and styles, surprise me) old photographs, Milagros, healthy recipes that also taste great, embossed or textured paper, Japanese five yen coins, one of your favorite quotes, calligraphy tips and worksheets, tea towels/dish towels, blank flash cards and other tools for teaching English to adults, books/videos/recommendations for how to learn Swahili, ten million dollars :)
Likes: Mixed media supplies, stencils, beauty samples, fun beginner knitting patterns, collage sheets, vintage bird illustrations, air mail themed items, crowns, fortunes from fortune cookies, dresden scrap, Milagros, old photographs, stars, anthropomorphic animals, map themed things, typewriters, unusual or artistic rubber stamps, mini ink pads like Color Box Cat's Eye inks, keys, writing pens, little pins like those one inch button pins, hanging out with my dog (I have a rescue mutt named Lucky), exploring. Craft tools and supplies are my weakness - gently used is a-ok!
Some of my favorite crafty things are Somerset Studio magazine, 7 Gypsies paper, Staz-On ink pads, Paper Source, subway tokens, old tape measures, old pins and jewelry from thrift stores. I love tote bags of all kinds (helps me pretend that I'm organized). Always looking for reusable grocery bags with a nice design or quirky look (if you have a bag from Piggly Wiggly, l have a Trader Joe's bag with the SF design to swap with you).
I like trying candies and foods from different places. (Do they still sell Bassett's Milky Babies in the UK or is it just Jelly Babies now?) I like dark chocolate the most, then all the other chocolates, macadamia nuts, and berry favors. Love going to farmers markets. On the lookout for healthy, yummy, real food recipes. Finally broke down and splurged on a Vitamix (it's loud!) so your favorite recipes for that would be great.
Also, surprises are wonderful!
Dislikes: Glitter that gets all over the place, Disney, flashing graphics, foam stickers, people who swap but don't rate, coconuts (coconut oil is ok). Not really into Kawaii or cutesy things, although some of it is fun. No friendship books, sticker books, etc. please since I don't do those things.
Collects: Old keys and photographs, unusual writing pens, foreign coins, old metal bus/subway tokens.
Personal: Married to a great guy who likes to see me tinker with ideas. No kids. One dog named Lucky. Love the idea of swapping - both the giving and receiving. Who knows what inspirations will come through the mail!
For themes, I'm drawn to vintage, nature, birds, houses, bingo, butterflies, the moon, postage stamps, postage stamp people, hearts, and minimalist designs. When sending to me, don't worry if we like different things. Send me what you like.
I usually make collage ATCs. Most of them have a star somewhere. That's just my thing :) When I make a card without one, my husband says things like, "Where's the star?" "Are you sure?" "How 'bout an asterisk?"
I also seem to reach for my favorite stamps and images over and over. So if we're in a lot of the same swaps, you might get twins. Or triplets. Trade them out! If you're bothered by that, just message me and we'll switch out a new card. No big deal.
Crafts, jazz, and dogs come to mind. I love to go hunt for things (as in stuff, not bears). Favorite movie: Cinema Paradiso. Favorite books: varied. Past favorites include I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (Maya Angelou), The Corrections (Jonathan Franzen), A Personal Matter (Kenzaburo Oe). For non-fiction, how to craft books seem to pile up around me.
I like to swap because I enjoy seeing other people's creativity. It's fun to see what others like to make. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday!
Such a belated "thank you" for the wonderful RAK-A-THON you sent in December. I loved the Christmas cards and hearing about your time in Oregon. Hope you enjoyed your visit with your mom. Were you there over Christmas? 2018 got off to a bumpy start, but things are normalizing now. Hope all is well. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness!
