***Getting lots of bad gateway messages blocking my access recently...frustrating. Will keep trying...will send a note if it makes me late in sending for some reason. :-)
I have been married for 40 years and I have no children and no pets. I had a dog (Labrador/chihuahua mix) for 16 years before he passed away, so I love animals. All animals. I am a retired Curriculum Director. I was also a college professor, and I wrote 5 books on literacy education. I love to travel and especially enjoy doing anything outdoors. In retirement, I consult, help folks who love to write realize their dream of publishing (everything from writing coach, to editing, to self-publishing). I am also a certified personal coach with a few clients.
I love just about any kind of music...except heavy metal rock and rap. I enjoy music and I sometimes have Pandora live-streaming or an old record on the record player while I'm working in my office at home.
I really love reading. Since my Ph. D. is in reading education...that is sort of a requirement!!! I typically have several books that I am reading at one time and I choose which book to read based on my mood. I also enjoy listening to audio books while I'm walking, working around the house, and driving. I lead a book club that meets monthly.
I'd like to say I don't watch much TV...but now that I think about it, I do watch some. I enjoy movies, comedies, and documentaries.
Since retiring, I have taken up watercolor painting - and I love it! While working, I never took the time to learn anything crafty-and I am now finding that most crafts can be learned and they are very fun! I do love to learn new things, including crafts.
Other things you should know about me...
I love teas (loose leaf or bagged) and coffees. I enjoy spending time with friends. I have an amazing prayer group that I've been attending for over 10 years. I speak French fluently-was an au pair in college for one semester in Paris, so I love anything France-related. I love golfing, camping, walking and doing anything outdoors. Anything related to nature makes me happy - and mushrooms make me smile.
I enjoy surprises, so if you love something, I will likely love it, too!
I take care in sending only quality items in swaps and would appreciate the same in return. I typically assign hearts based on quality, not quantity.
