Comment: Hey neighbor!! I actually went there on vacation when I was younger! Amazing story and amazing box! you are very talented! thanks for such a great addition to my collection! BTW, do they have any inexpensive beach house rentals for week ends down there? It was back in the late seventies and my dad was a helecopter pilot. we took a 2 week vacay and hopped all over that area. We actuallly invited ourselves over to some people we met on the beach and they took us home for dinner just to get the helecopter ride! We should have been hippies but my dad was way agains doing drugs! lol!
Response: Thanks! It was my first matchbox! I didn't want to give it away after I made it, lol! I am glad you like it. Are you sure you didn't go to Port Aransas? A lot of people get the 2 mixed up. I'm not sure about beach house rentals here. Most everything is still not built back up since hurricane Ike. I'll let you know if I find out anything. Happy swapping! Lol! Sounds like a fun time. Unfortunately my family was never much into the beach thing...In fact, I don't think I realized I lived so near to the coast until I was like in middle school. So, I can't say much for house rentals here. We usually stay with my relatives in Galveston at their bay house. Also, it is great that he was way way against drugs, lol! By the way, I just added take a helicopter ride to my bucket list.
