Hi!
I just joined swap bot after hearing several friends mention it on Instagram. I live in the southern US with my two sons who are 16 and 8. This year I started postcrossing, which evolved into postcard swapping on Facebook and Instagram, and starting my IG page called @Southernstampqueen That led to also re-igniting a long lost love of stamps, having collected on and off since about the 3rd grade.
In day to day things, I work for a bank as an accountant and like to paint and doodle a little. I also love Illustrations and goodies with peacocks, snails, or other birds and animals, or anything whimsical or funny.
Looking forward to seeing what swapbot is all about. 🥰
A few years ago I started collecting peacock motif things, like with peacock designs or illustrations. I have a few small peacocks, but nothing huge.
More recently I’m considering snails a favorite and have a few little snail items.
Of course I collect stamps, too, so I guess you could say I do like peacock stamps or snail stamps. I really like any commemorative type stamps, though.
Some things I like:
Peacock illustrations
Special stamps
Snails
Birds
Cats
Garfield
Wonder Woman
Mailart
Rubber stamps
Funny things
Giraffes
Llamas
Elephants
Cardinals
Pretty and colorful stickers
Illustrations > photo cards
Handpainted or handdrawn anything
Phantom of the Opera
Turquoise, purple, aqua, jewel tones, red
Washi tape
Oddities
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter etc.
Fabric postcards
I like to decorate postcards with washi and stickers and usually 3-4+ vintage stamps. Envelopes are even more fun since there is room for more stickers, drawings, polka dots, washi, and waaaayyyy more room for stamps. I do it because I hope the person I’m sending it to will like it, but also because art is good therapy for me, too.
Something I really want to try is die cutting, but I have yet to buy one of the little machines. I’m also interested in trying a gelli roll. All of the artsy things sound like fun to me.
Magnets (my fridge is steel so they won't stick..boo!)
