Hi! I'm Becki. I'm a Chicagoan who now lives in the Seattle area. I've been participating in swaps and happy mail projects for a few years, but never tried swap-bot... until now! =)

UPDATE 3/30/20 — I've moved back to Illinois! After about 3 years of living in Washington, I'm back to being in my home state.

UPDATE 12/22/25—We’ve moved! Still in Illinois (now we’re in Buffalo Grove).

I enjoy street art and graffiti, traveling, photography, collecting postcards, stickers, anything with stars on it, VHS and cassette tapes (and watching/listening to them), going to estate sales and flea markets, and spending time with dogs, especially my dog Bunni. She’s a Boxer-Pit mix we rescued in June 2020 and she’s a super chewer who loves to run around and give kisses.

Update: We did one of those DNA tests for her and found out she's more Neapolitan Mastiff, Cane Corso and Bulldog than the small percent of Boxer the shelter told us about. What fun! It also explains why she's getting SO big. =)

I love roller skates, gumball machines, cartoons, Lisa Frank, ice cream, zoos, cemeteries, Halloween (all year!), roller coasters, autumn, and lots of other random/wacky things.

I’m also completely obsessed with Animal Crossing (since 2005)—I've played it on pretty much every platform. If you play, tell me about your favorite characters, or what your town/island is like. I love to nerd out about it.

Any 1980s pop culture references (music, television, etc.) makes me smile. Prince and George Michael are my favorites for music, and one-hit wonders are high up there, too. I mean, Vanity 6 and Terence Trent D'Arby both rank really high on my daily playlists. And if you just searched for either of them and found something familiar, that's awesome. =) If they're new to you...enjoy!

I love to receive music recommendations, or links on YouTube to something you've been watching/listening to. Lately I've been on an electronic and dance music kick. Oh, and Bollywood—can’t forget that!

I have an insane sticker collection. I'm absolutely obsessed with stickers, and am not ashamed of it. ;) If you have any stickers you could share with any swap we do, that would ALWAYS be welcome! Oh, and I love washi!

I also collect wrapping paper. It’s weird, I know. I love it, though. =) I have a book with pieces in it, much like my sticker album or washi book. They’re all fun to add to and admire.

My favorite color is black, and rainbow (love rainbows). I also have an affinity for purples.

Some themes that I would love to receive cards/postcards/stickers of include:

• Your city / country / town / province
• Halloween-themed all year long (no spiders, though, please)
• Animals (especially dogs, pigs and polar bears)
• Desserts (doughnuts, cakes, chocolates, cookies)
• Muppets or anything related to Jim Henson (personal hero of mine)
• Vintage (if in postcard form I prefer blank/unwritten)
• Adult-theme (something suggestive, naughty and fun)
• Cartoons or illustrations (I love kawaii!)
• Architecture and bridges
• Moon and stars, landscape/nature

Sending a postcard in an envelope is absolutely OK, but don't feel you have to—either way is fine by me. I tend to do postcard swaps with a preference of blank and in an envelope, but written and stamped is a treasure in itself, too.

Also, love all things Lantern Press, LouPaper, and the Postcard Fair U.S. state map series. =) Non-U.S. favs are Ever&Ein and Shine (such cute artists).

I've also started doing bag swaps! Yay! I'm open to accepting excess. Not a fan of friendship books or sheets (I don't quite understand them) but otherwise I'm loving the collaborative gift-giving feel of bags. Sticker bags are my favorites!

I collect playing cards! If you have any you can spare—with or without washi samples on it—I'd love to complete a new Franken-deck with them (duplicates are totally OK).

I've joined a few playing card swaps, but I wanted to mention it on my profile, too, in case it inspired anyone. =) If you like playing cards, please consider joining the group I made: Playing Card Swappers.

I seldom watch TV, but when I get a chance to pop in a DVD or get into Netflix, I really enjoy these:

I'm sure there are many others, but those immediately came to mind.

Please, if you can, do NOT send anything with bugs on it. I have an immense fear of all insects and spiders.

So please no bugs (that includes butterflies, ladybugs, bees, and dragonflies).

It won't kill me or anything, it's just a strong dislike in terms of preferences.

Other items I'd rather NOT receive...

• Anything with children or babies on it
• Anything religious
• Glittery things (so messy)
• Anything with cinnamon
• Coffee-related items (I don't drink/like coffee)

If I do receive any of these, it's OK, I'll just pass them along in other swaps. Just wanted to add some, just in case.

If you only send me things from my dislike list (it's happened) then I will likely not rate with a heart.

Same if you've misspelled my first name...I likely will not give a heart to my rating.

If I haven't given you a rating from a swap, it's because I haven't received anything. I always rate the day I receive something. Please feel free to message me if you want to check. I always try to check in if it's been awhile because I would rather not rate than give someone a 1—we've all been there when something doesn't arrive in the mail. No fun!

Please don't hesitate to contact me, too, if I'm someone who has sent you something that you haven't received. I'm happy to send another card, postcard, etc.

It's exhausting work contacting everyone to ask them to rate! But, it's important to me as I don't want a 3 or 1. So know that I will message you to verify whether or not I should resend if I haven't received a rating from you. Not trying to harass; just want to make sure you got the swap I mailed! =)
