UPDATE: 05/22/26 Well, it has been a while so I will catch you all up! So, my boyfriend and I closed the distance! He moved down to Florida and in with me in February. Things are amazing between us! And yes, my cats adore him. On a more disappointing note, the education system in Florida is experiencing a huge budget cut. My school decided to cut me. I have nothing but good reviews and have never been in trouble. I can only guess because I have my professional certificate from the state and a master's degree, I need to get paid more so I "cost more." The good news is the district is still hiring and my current school can request me back in case they lose teachers. A lot can happen over the summer! I am just applying to everything I can and have a good feeling about the future! I am also being looked at to teach math at a new high school that will open up in August of 2027! But I do need to work until then.

Hey, fellow Swappers! I am Cindy, and I am a 27-year-old female from the USA. I am a teacher and I also tutor on the side.

I started pen paling when I was 13, and I have loved it ever since! I currently have pen pals all over the world including in the USA. I have met these pen pals in a variety of ways online such as Facebook groups and pen pal sites.

Some things that are very important to me include my family, friends, my cats (Jack and Mitzi), my relationship, and my career.

I have a boyfriend, Zack, who though I have known for over five years we did not start a relationship until recently. I left a bad relationship and I got back into contact with Zack and things went from there. At the moment we are long distance with me being in Florida and him being in Tennessee but we are making it work until he can come back to Florida.

I am a washi tape enthusiast. I also love going to craft shops, especially Hobby Lobby where there is usually a sale on most items! Other than washi tape I also love stationary, tags, stickers, and as of recently, vintage.

I am not too artsy sadly but I am working on learning how to better decorate my letters and envelopes. It is nothing too fancy.

Now to relax after work I like to watch pen pal videos such as pen pal with me, tips and tricks, and what my pen pals sent me videos. I also scroll through swap-bot a lot! As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, it is always good to stay busy!

I first heard about Swap-Bot when I was watching YouTube in 2018. I made in account in May of that year and participated in less than a handful of swaps. In December of 2019 I was at an airport in New York waiting for a (very) delayed flight back home. I was passing time on my laptop, decided to log into Swap-Bot, and the rest is history! I feel like I re-discovered Swap-Bot just in time for the lockdown as swapping helped through that time, as I am sure it helped many of us on this site.

In July of 2013, I was diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (a form of anxiety). I have been treated for it ever since. I got off treatment for a while but then things got bad again in November of 2017. In December of 2019, I was diagnosed with Depression and I am treated for that as well.

I want the stigma of mental illness to end, or at least diminish because I am still a normal person. I work full time, I have hobbies, and friends, a relationship, and I go out. I share my story so others can share theirs. Feel free to email me if you want to share your story or just want someone to talk to! Let's get through this together!

Regarding ratings, I am not a "heart chaser." I understand not everything I send may deserve a heart and I am never offended when I do not get one. I have heard of "heart chasers" on here, so I want to make it clear I am not one.

I would love to get pen pals out of Swap-Bot, though I know it is not really for that. However, I would prefer if they are females ages 23-37! I have gotten at least one from here and would love more!

11/30/24 I want to thank everyone on here for the support they gave me during this difficult time. I have started signing up for more swaps as it will keep me busy and not think about the terrible situation that recently occurred in my life. As of now, I am still on FMLA and will return to work after the New Year. Until then, I will be working on myself and getting my health back on track.

01/08/25 I returned to work and things were worse than I ever expected them to be. I am once again applying for FMLA and will make the difficult (yet easy) decision to resign. My health is more important than my job and there are plenty of jobs out there. Always remember that!

01/15/25 I am a little behind on opening and rating swaps due to the job hunting. I apologize and will get that done by the end of this weekend!

03/18/25 It has been a minute so it is time for an update. On March 7th I officially left my job. I loved what I did and it was the last thing I wanted to do. But my boss was harassing me due to me reporting them. I know I did nothing wrong, I did my job, and I would do it all again. It is sad that I left but my health has drastically improved since leaving! I am up for a few jobs, I may even do many part time jobs. I am starting a tutoring job soon which I am excited for and I have more interviews coming up. Overall, things are looking up!

05/02/25 I am happy to say things are really looking up! I am still trying to work odd jobs here and there to make ends meet and tutor. I am almost done with my master's degree and I am up for a job as a math teacher in August! Until then, I will be working as much as I can, working on myself, going to the gym, and cleaning my house! Oh, and snail mail, of course.

05/26/25 I officially have my master's degree and will be teaching 6th grade math starting in August! These past few months were difficult but I am happy that things are falling into place!

06/11/25 After recent events I made the decision to leave my boyfriend of two years. I am okay. I am safe. This will be a big life change but I will be fine.

07/21/25 It is crazy how my entire life changed right before my eyes in the past six months. And it changed in a good way. I left a toxic work environment and am starting a new teaching job. I left a bad relationship and entered into one with a man that I have known for over five years but I always felt was meant to be in my life in some way. And I have restarted my fitness journey!

11/21/25 I am finally catching up on rating swaps! It is a wild ride as a teacher from Halloween to the holidays. But I finally have moment to sit down and relax before I fly to Tennessee in the morning!

I know most are not postmark sticklers here. However, mail pickup/delivery is not consistent here. They do come Monday - Saturday but anytime between 10 AM to 4 PM. There may be times I put mail in the mail box but have missed pick up because they came early that day. If the swap is postmarked a day or two later than when I sent it, that is why.

If you get a swap from me and have to pay postage, please let me know!

Lastly, if there's a chance your letter may have a slight delay, I will let you know ASAP! I am also 100% okay with late mail! I understand that things happen! Please just let me know ahead of time!
