About Me

9/5 I HAVE HAD CONSISTENT ISSUES WITH THE SITE BEING DOWN FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS. I WILL TRY MY BEST TO LOG IN THIS WEEKEND.

Exploring and defining my now disabled life (psoriatic arthritis, long COVID, and a late autism diagnosis on top of my long-standing CPTSD, depression, and anxiety). I identify as neuroqueer and atheopagan. she/they pronouns.

I describe myself as a slow-living enthusiast residing in coastal New England (northeast United States). I'm drawn to the quiet, intentional corners of life; some would call this a "soft life," but I feel that's a loaded phrase. That same instinct shows up in how I shop, too: I love supporting small businesses, hunting through vintage and thrift shops, and choosing homemade or handcrafted goods over anything mass-produced. Slavic folk magic, seasonal rhythms, and plant-based cooking. Most of what I cook starts with whatever came in my CSA box that week or caught my eye at my local co-op, and I could genuinely talk about both at length.

For hobbies, I've been knitting since 2019 and hoping to start sewing this year or the next. I listen to audiobooks and read books, though not consistently. I also enjoy podcasts such as Scamfluencers, Maintenance Phase (approach with a critical ear), and recently have been relistening to Lore. Going to pick-your-own fruit farms is a seasonal hobby of mine, and I've been dabbling in baking, especially with whatever fruit is in season.

I grew up lower-class but have been afforded a relatively comfortable middle-class life thanks to my partner (genderqueer, he/him). I would describe both of us as humble, with our only ambition being community and finding joy in short distances. I also share my home with three black cats: an adopted bonded pair, Plato and Diogenes, and a baby girl named Hypatia. I'm kin to two young children who frequent my home along with their mother, my sister. When it comes to family, I will simply say I am an eldest daughter ending generational trauma. This, along with my disabilities and the financial and political climate of my country, I have forgone parenthood. I do not describe myself as child-free. In fact, my life is very child-centered. I worked in early childhood for three years before becoming disabled and still volunteer at my previous employer when I can. volunteer at my previous employer when I can.

Favorite Music

For convenience, I have linked my Spotify playlist.

Favorite Books

I recently finished Hey Hun by Emily Lynn Paulson. I'm a big fan of both KC Davis books, How to Keep House While Drowning and Who Deserves Your Love. Rooted: Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature, and Spirit by Lyanda Lynn Haupt and The Story of Art without Men by Katy Hessel were great reads this year. You can also check my Storygraph profile.

Favorite Movies

I like a lot of Robert Eggers's movies. Although The Northman wasn't really my vibe, and I haven't seen Nosferatu. At home, I watch a decent amount of both horizontal and vertical C Dramas.

Favorite Television

I don't watch cable or streaming platforms but am a big fan of true crime on YouTube, along with knitting podcasts and some commentary.

Favorite Crafts

Knitting. That's my main craft/hobbie. From time to time, I pick up cross-stitching and floral arranging/wreath-making. Really hoping to add sewing to this list.

Postcard preference

I've seen it disclosed on a few profiles, so out of concern, if I don't say it, there's a chance it could happen, but nothing NSFW

Swap permitting, I'm always pro-homemade cards if that's what the sender enjoys.
