Comment: I cried a little when I got this - not out of joy but out of sadness - I don’t know what happened, but I think I had some hungry little squirrels or something (my mailbox is small so the postie left it on my porch) There was like 1/4 of a bar untouched and I’m not gonna lie - I totally ate it and it was delicious! I just wish I could have enjoyed the whole thing ☹️ Of course I still want to rate up +heart because the effort was obvious there so thank you! Oh, and thanks for the honey too! I just hope I got all you included 🙃

Comment: Happy wedding anniversary! I've been to LV once for travelling and I felt the same way as you did. The city was full of excitement but I felt more relaxed at quieter cities. I'd like to watch more musicals but it's too expensive in Korea :.( But I still can watch musical movies and that's quite fortunate for me. Have watched the Greatest Showman? Well you may find it offensive as it's related to frick show but the music and stage was so great and I was impressed. Recommend to watch it :) Thank you for your postcard and please have a wonderful 2018.

Comment: I have never been to the Denver airport, and from your description, it sounds like that might be a good thing. Luckily, from NYC, I can usually find direct flights and don't have to connect to visit most places (at least large cities).

Comment: Thanks for the extras. I lived in Herriman, UT and worked in W. Jordan for 6 months in 2006. I loved living there, but didn't get to stay for a number of reasons. Since I've developed arthritis in the meantime, I think the Lord in His infinite wisdom knew that staying in Utah wouldn't be good for my health in the long run. :). I keep saying that I want to get back up there to the FHL in SLC; one of these days..... Happy swapping.

Comment: First, I thought that your card is beautiful. I am using something very similar for family. Second, I love your your note. We lived in Germany for 4 years. I have such good memories from there. I looked forward to going to the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt. We would walk around eating sausages and drinking gluhwein. We were the only Americans in our village, Pichenricht, near Hahnbach. When I was young, we could only do our stockings before breakfast. Ours, too, were full of fruit and nuts with a few small packages. Lastly, I love the gift tags...I should, I bought the same ones to use! Thanks for making my day!

Comment: Hello Leigh. What a surprise to see someone also interested in Edo Japanese artwork! However, I suspect there're some mistakes in the introduction of this artwork. There's a typo of the artist's name. It should be Mistuoki instead of Mistouki. And the poetess was called 儀同三司母 (Gidousanshi no haha), not 儀同之司母 (Yoshitomo no Shibo). Here's the full poem in Japanese for your reference: 忘れじの 行末までは 難ければ 今日をかぎりの 命ともがな It's not completely the same as what's written in the artwork. My friends who know Japanese well said it's because there're certain rules of altering written phonetics in Edo era. They're quite complicated and often require experts to decipher. Anyway it's an interesting artwork! :)

Comment: Great card! Here in Illinois it’s the opposite...I see hawks every once in a while but have never seen a bald eagle. I have been crocheting for almost 30 years....I know how to read patterns but those mermaid tails get me EVERYTIME. They are never successful for me, so kudos to you!

Response: I definitely think it has to do with the poverty and oppression that the area has faced from the mining industry. To me it feels like hope was drained from the area a long time ago, and there was just an overwhelming sadness in the air. That's not to say that there's no happiness or good things there because there definitely are, it's just a very different feeling to be there. It's such an under appreciated state too in a lot of ways, and that's sad, because it really is beautiful and has some amazing and resilient people there.
