Comment: Guess what arrived yesterday?! Both of these cards from both of my partners! That's right! Both the originals and the resends from BOTH of my partners! Looks like I'll be needing a trip out towards the gorge myself soon! Actually my family lives up in eastern WA so we drive through that area quite a bit, I try to use the scenic bypasses as much as possible, it is so gorgeous and just a hop skip away from town!

I really love the WSR-14 route. 84 is awesome, but 14 is a bit higher up, and it goes through some pretty awesome rock formations on the east end of the gorge. I really don't take that side enough...

Comment: Thank you for the Multnomah Falls card. I have a picture of my husband and I at that falls in April 2004. We also walked up to the little bridge then waited with sister-in-law while her kids and grandson walked further up. Not all the way though.
Response: It's really beautiful in the Gorge. Multnomah is the most famous, but Shepherd's Dell and Oneonta are also very beautiful, if you ever have the chance :) thank you for the heart!

Comment: Thanks for the PCs 😋 I got the awesome Aliens one first which was slightly confusing but the other boring one came the next day. 😜 If the 56 Lincoln just got a redesign, why didn't they put that on the cover instead of a red light and people crossing the street? Kind of boring. But anyways, Peace Talks should be good when it finally comes out. Aeronaut's Windlass was okay but I was expecting more than okay. Codex Alera was quite fun and the Spider-Man novel but I want to finish the Dresden Files. Just started Red Rising and it's awesome so far. 😋 Have an awesome day, Nathan 💙

A little smaller than the standard letter set size, but beyond adequate, and the print quality is fantastic. It's got a really nice weight to it, too. I'm totally going to blow more money I shouldn't on more stationery when I get paid lol.

Comment: Thanks for the Picasso painting. I was living in Paris when the French government displayed the paintings that were the settlement for his estate taxes, a fabulous exhibit. Now they comprise the work displayed in Musée National Picasso, so it's possible I saw this painting.
Response: That's wonderful :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's a bit morbid, but also rather beautiful isn't it? The symbolism in that piece really gets me. I would love to visit some o the museums in France... I imagine the exhibits are exquisite. Thank you for the heart :)

Glad you were able to avail of the Criterion Collection sale -- I am still holding out for The Grand Budapest Hotel to join its ranks :) I have to see The Man Who Fell to Earth and Brazil! I honestly have been out of the loop regarding films lately because of my White Collar binge and the Olympics, but I really want to see Florence Foster Jenkins (knew about her as a classical voice undergrad), Hunt for the Wilderpeople (my local critic said that Waititi's latest is like a Wes Anderson film :O), and A Tale of Love and Darkness. Happy Sunday!
Response: Brazil is probably my favorite Terry Gilliam movie of all time... it's hard to choose between that and 12 Monkeys, though. The Man Who Fell to Earth is surreal and wonderful and probably the best film David Bowie ever did. The book is even better, but the film did a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the source material. Hope everything's okay with you, dunno precisely which area you're in but LA looks like a crapfest from what the news is showing us up here. Stay safe!

Response: The meteor shower was great! We found an okay spot out in the desert (we couldn't get too far off the highway which was a bummer when trucks went past, but it was still decent). We saw probably close to two dozen altogether after we ended up moving on to a different spot in the Columbia Gorge (beautiful place, we should've gone there first lol). I sent you a friend request :) I'd be happy to do other swaps in the future

Comment: Thanks for the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse postcard. I wonder how it got its name. First I've heard of this type of scavenger hunt.
Response: The version I've heard is that the fur trader and explorer John Meares was trying to get to the Columbia River to meet a ship and got turned around. When he realized he was staring at the Pacific and not the river, and that he'd found a previously unexplored part of the coast. He jokingly called it 'Cape Disappointment' because he didn't find what he was looking for :P Thanks for the rate and the heart <3

I was going to sign up but I was afraid I would not be able to keep up with a team so I decided to wait it out for next year maybe.... I am a very active person but I am not sure I would be very liked by the team I would be placed on because I cant just go somewhere without notice coz of my dogs and kids etc...

Response: Next year, do it! That's what being on a team is all about :) The wonderful thing is not all the items require going somewhere, and there's something for everyone of all skill levels, ability levels, and schedules. I'm one of the crazy ones on my team lol. I do a lot of the travel stuff because I take time off from work, but there are some items as simple as creating a web page or posting specific things on social media. We even had an item this year where we had to create postcards of the 'highlights' of the hunt and send them to William Shatner. I'd say this year we did okay. I'm pretty sure we didn't come close to winning, but our team motto is 'participation is winning' -- meaning as long as we have fun and enjoy ourselves that's what matters most :)

I tend to go a little nuts when I go there... lol. They have a huge gift section full of neat stuff, and a whole separate bookstore attached to it as well as the grocery store. Comment: Thank you for the adorable, hilarious, very appropriate to Orson Scott Card's novel Jetoy card, Sara! Ender's Game is actually one of my favorite novels -- I devoured it and was so stunned by its twists!; the movie was okay, but I almost always believe that the book is better :) -- so I would love to read its continuation/sequels. Thank you for your other book recommendations! I need to get a move on my ever-lengthening reading list, haha...
Response: I know that feeling :P I was pretty satisfied with the adaptation of Ender's Game. I was kind of disappointed with Bean's down-played presence, and the shift of aspects from both Bean and Alai onto Petra (which I still don't really understand -- Petra was awesome and all but really...) but overall the movie was pretty decent. Biggest disappointment though is I really wanted to see Graaff get stress-fat XD

I will have to watch Delicatessen -- it's also that wonderful time of year that Barnes & Noble has its 50%-off the Criterion Collection sale :) It is also the French Film Festival this week in town; if I weren't working, I would attend the screening of Valley of Love with Isabelle Huppert and Gérard Depardieu! I am also excited for Mr. Anderson's next project, but I hope The Grand Budapest Hotel is included in the CC soon :) I held off purchasing his previous films until they were all available in that edition.
