Comment: Love your blue Postcard! It stands up to any I have received before, so no one would ever know it was your first. We are cold here, too, but not much snow here yet. The storm earlier this week only gave us an inch of the fluffy kind. As long as I don’t have to shovel, I’m good! Winter well.

You might also like Together Tea and The Stationery Shop, both by Marjan Kamali. (BTW, it's really impressive that you can start another book right after finishing one! I always need to wait a day or two for the previous book to get out of my system first!)

Comment: Hi, I haven't watched Norwegian wood. If I'm not wrong it was based on a book. But perhaps I should check it out. I hardly go to the cinema but I do catch up on movies thru online streaming services. Cinematic movies/shows are possibly my favourite. Thanks for the postcard. 😊
Response: Yes, Norwegian Wood is Haruki Murakami's internationally most loved book. You should definitely try to stream the film as it's really very cinematographic. A small piece of art! It should be available somewhere as it's already 13 years old (2010).

The beautiful embossed papers (I think wallpaper) is so stunning and so textural! I love all the little tucks and pockets filled with so many pretty little bits. Response: AAAAH fijn dat je hem leuk vindt! Ik 'hergebruik' zoveel mogelijk uit het dagelijks leven in mijn mailart, dus ja: wat mij betreft doen we dit vaker! Enne, zelf houd ik ook meer van bloeiende velden dan de kunstmatigheid van bloemencorso, maar het is wél typisch Nederlands en ik heb er goede herinneringen aan overgehouden. Hoewel de bloemenslingers die je voor op de motorkap op je auto kon kopen nog diepere indruk op mijn kinderziel hebben gemaakt ;-)

Comment: Dankjewel voor de nieuwe kaart in deze ronde. We gaan er weer wat voor verzinnen. Maar zeker ook voor je kaart van het kerkje van þingvellir. We zijn er een aantal jaar geleden geweest. Zó schattig, echt helemaal van hout, ook binnen.
Response: Hee, wat een gelukstreffer dat je het kerkje in het echt hebt gezien! Lijkt me heel bijzonder. Ook dat het van binnen ook helemaal van hout is! Mijn ene opa (die ik niet heb gekend) was schrijwerker en hij heeft in Oegstgeest een heel kansel van hout gemaakt. Succes met de kaart en fijn weekend!

Comment: Oh Chanou, wat een schitterende PC heb je gemaakt. Ik ben er super blij mee. En inderdaad, een pietsie kleur maakt hem gelijk nog chiquer. Ik heb in mijn knutselkamertje een Billie CD kastje een kwart slag gedraaid opgehangen. Daar komen alle ontvangen creatieve dingen te staan. Als het te vol wordt gaan er wat weg, er komen vanzelf weer nieuwe dingen bij. Sommige staan er al heel lang, omdat ze echt niet weg mogen. Deze komt ook in de Hall of Fame en zal er nog lang blijven staan.

Comment: Gone! Thank you for a very on point to my profile scrap envelope and b&w&red goodies! I love it! Crying in H-Mart was the only biographical book I've read in a long time that didn't make me dislike the person it was about after reading it. It has some big moments of sorrow in it, and some big moments of joy. The book made me feel like Michelle is a real person, vs other recent biographies that made me realize just how out of touch even the most down to earth celebrities can be. I almost quit the genre, but won't after this stellar book. I hope you enjoy it.

We were lucky enough to be in Tokyo a few years back when the sakuras were in full bloom. It was spectacular! Very crowded in most of the parks but also beautiful, fun, happy! I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. : ( I hope you can enjoy some time together. I have that same attitude of “next year” as well - and like you said, until it means we can’t. I wish I knew who I sent it to because I'd send them the front end too! Such a fun swap -- so many cool things! (It arrived in a US Post envie -- the back of your envie had been torn off/damaged. I think everything was here and fine -- you had wrapped it in ribbon and I don't think anything got away and nothing is damaged. That might be why it took so long to arrive. We are having trouble with governors running rough-shod over the Constitution and not being even-handed in applying the law. Fortunately, we live in a rural area and can pretty much do what we want as there are few people around us. I have been tested because I needed an invasive procedure and I tested negative. We know of 4 people who have had it and all report that it's like a cold and the four got over it in times that varied from 1-5 days. I think it is mutating and is only dangerous for those with a compromised immune system. Have fun with the donkeys - I didn't know they were an issue in The Netherands. At least you get to be outside, which is very healthy!

The audubon I actually have no received before, or seen, despite having audubon prints all over my house! :):):) This ad card with the travel bug is AWESOME! We call roaches "palmetto bugs" as a polite way of referring to them here. It's so silly. This dragonfly card is exquisite! All these extras are amazing and you put so much work into the lovely envelope despite not feeling so well! These stickers are wonderful, I especially love the kitchen faux postage. The tiny metal cicada is such a treasure to me. I remember so many nights where I grew up falling asleep to their sounds. Thank you for the cool buttons (MIFFY!) for my collection. Just so much wonderfulness, I'm so grateful. And I loved hearing about you getting to see St. Vincent and David Byrne! They are such a good music-making pair. I say go for the Re-Use centre! You could have it open only a couple days a week/month (whatever works for your schedule) and start small and slow. Comment: Hi, het was leuk om je kleine pakketjes uit te pakken. Bedankt! Ik vind het ook altijd lastig om voor iemand in Nederland iets te maken. Je kan in Amerika een abonnement nemen op het tijdschrift Art Journal. Is best leuk, maar na een jaar heb je het allemaal wel gezien. Het tijdschrift wordt vanuit Amerika naar je huisadres gestuurd en het abonnement loopt automatisch af na 1 of 2 jaar, ligt er aan hoelang je een abonnement neemt. Je moet wel betalen met bv visa of PayPal.

I especially love the postcards, Thumper and Jiminy Cricket cards, Flow magazine papers and stamped bicycles and little elephants! I am fascinated with the tiny random blue ephemera -- id numbers, postage, retro label, tea tags, runner die cut, etc. You thoughtfully read my profile and chose so many items that suited me very well, thank you! Then your presentation: wow! I felt like it was my birthday with so many beautifully wrapped and enveloped gift packets to discover! Een vooral dank voor het feit, dat je die oranje schatten speciaal vor míj hebt uitgezocht. Ik ben geroerd. Wat is het envelopje vrolijk! En met mijn favoriet Luchtpostfiets erop ook! In het bijzinder vind ik het helgeld, de bierstikkers, het papier met Escher-patroon en de glasblazer leuk. Maar eigenlijk vind ik het allemal leuk en vrolijk. Dankejewel!

Actually 'oliebollen' sounds a lot like the Finnish 'munkki', its almost the same dough than in yours and it also is deep fried, sometimes theres jam inside or it's glazed with sugar, chcolate or something like that :) and yes, they are quite delicious ;) Happy New Year!!

If you would have read my profile, you would have noticed that I wrote that I don't collect just any wraps but wraps of teas I drink only. Before opening it I thought you included a teabag or something... but then I was honesty quite a little disappointed. But well, the intention was good so I don't mind :). Thanks for the postcard.

I got it from a Dutch chain store called V&D; I don't think they carry it any more. I can't remember what stickers I changed exactly (puffy owls and such I think) but I threw in some Asian, HK etc. :D
