Comment: awesome zine....I love that you did middle child day....very handsome!...love the watermelon background....in the mid 70's...when I was...uhh...young...at these huge summer picnics we had....the biggest thing was when they cut the watermelon, it was an all out "spitting seeds" war...it was all in good fun....things might be a bit different nowadays...cheers!...ps....this other zine is so beautiful!...the one with the girl on the beach is so my daughter...she loves taking pics like that....thank so much for this extra zine... :D

Comment: Aw! My parents had two parrotlets. Gracie was the same way. SUPER bitey till she wasnt. She loved when I would scratch her neck. 'Specially when her new feathers were coming in. She'd let me pick off the casings for as long as I wanted. Glad you're not getting chomped on anymore. Their little beaks hurt! Thanks for the letter. :D

Response: I wasn't entirely sure I hadn't sent you that before. I'm glad it's the first time! I still haven't gotten my tattoo, because EXPENSIVE, but one of these days...only one of my daughters has gotten hers so far.

Comment: Thank you for the postcard! I’m going to check out Good Omens. I just finished reading Stranger Diaries by Elly Griffiths. I read her mystery series. This was a stand alone mystery that had kind of a gothic/ghost story vibe. I’d give it 4/5.
Response: I finished it and it's awesome! Now I'm watching the show with DAVID TENNANT and some other people who are okay. If you feel the need to read the book first so you can understand the show (if you intend to watch the show) don't bother. This show is a word-by-word recreation of the book! I love it! I'm going to look into the book you mention, because I like that type, and not all books can be 5/5!

Hot Air Balloon Day was my very favorite, because I've ridden in them twice and it brought back such nice memories of the other balloons that were flying with mine. Juneteenth reminded me of the time I was in Atlanta for the PrideFest Parade and how impressive and touching it was to see it all. And I love the cute pink animals on National Pink Day's page. Comment: That was awesome, I loved reading about your knitting tales. About 2 years ago I started knitting, I knitted mobile phone covers and sold a few, for a pittance, on Etsy. I had to stop knitting as it was making my neck stiff and I was getting a lump on my right shoulder. Now I craft and swap and journal, but who knows how long that will last. I totally get the just stopping thing, it's a bit like Forest Gump and his running phase. he he. xx

You might want to try "Miracle Creek" - the author is from Korea, and the family in the story is from Korea as well. But really, I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the book. I mean, the first part is all right, but when you realize she's introducing the entire life history of every doorman and other insignificant person they pass by, it's just ridiculous. Plus the concept of the one person changing is unbelievable. But if you've spent money on it, do give it a try. I will DEFINITELY look for Miracle Creek!

Eight Track Tape Day took me back to the 60's with the 'groovy' tye-dyed colors, and Save the Elephant Day was such a good illustration of what the problem is for wild elephants. I noticed that Tardis found its way into Astronomy day, LOL! Speaking of which, the Dr. Who Activity zine was a fantastic idea! Now I want to make an activity zine too! Thanks for the inspiration! I buy my Punch Studio from Tuesday Morning Store (similar to TJM, Ross, or Marshals) I am the same, sweet and salty. Hard for me to pick but if I had to yea sweet. They actually do make a A&W rootbeer water flavoring which tastes just like it but no carbonation. I find it at Dollar General. Since carbonation now makes my tummy hurt, I like having the old flavor now and then. My favorite water flavoring is SunnyD, that stuff is SPOT ON for SunnyD!

Response: Oh, I had been waiting and waiting for a Harry Potter fan partner. I got them on Etsy as a digital file, and I printed out a number of sets. If you keep ATCoins anywhere in a binder or whatever, these are the same size, just not the same shape, so they can fit in the same binder or other method. Or whatever you choose. We have about a 1/4 mile driveway, and we have to park the car at the end and wear waterproof boots to walk out to the car, because the slush is over a foot deep and any attempt to get the front-wheel-drive car ends in being quite stuck! But still, it's exciting and thanks for the rating and heart!

Response: Sadly, I don't. I cut the edges off. And until I FINALLY buy a paper trimmer next week, I cut them off by hand. Which is a weird thing about me - I love to cut things out as long as I have a good scissors. I had to start doing that, because I make them digitally, and I could NOT get the printer to print them the way I wanted to and I couldn't figure out how to format them to print right, so I just said, never mind, I'll just make it all even and cut off the edges so yeah. Thanks for the rating! I hope to see you in March, too!

Comment: I love your card! Its soooo green! My son loves green as well but I still think you may have him beat. He would prefer to live surrounded by green. Thank you for the Zine as well. I will keep it with my little growing collection of Zines. My odd trait is cat eyes (eyes that have more than one color) closest name for it is Heterochromia but the actor Benedict Cumberbach has this trait too. My eyes can look different colors depending on what I am wearing or the type of light I am in. Btw..one of those colors is green.

That is an awesome trait, and one I share, I used to have these two shirts, both turquoise, but one bluer and one greener. I'd stand in front of the mirror holding one up to my body then the other, and watch my eyes change from blue to green. I was much younger, and they have settled into mostly blue, but certain things I wear, not necessarily green things, bring out the green in them. I've never heard them called cat eyes, but awesome! Haha, yes, my daughter told me in our last townhouse, "I can't wait to move out. I'm sick of living in a lime!" Thanks so much for the rating and the heart! I bet people just SWOOON over your eyes! Comment: I quite enjoyed your comments Jennifer. I think that you have made a wise decision in sticking to what you enjoy and not worrying so much about keeping up with the English majors. Life is too short to waste on books that just don't cut it. I do like Anne Rice, Stephen King, and Charles Dickens. However, I disagree about Moby-Dick. I really did like that one. :)

Comment: Thank you very much for your so super detailed reviews! :) The first book doesn't sound so great :D I rather don't enjoy that kind of books, I don't mind if there's not a really interestisting plot or much stuff that is a bit unnecessary for it, but that random doesn't really sound fun anymore. I'm glad you read two other good books though at least :) (And swapping reading for Dr Who also isn't that bad of an idea - the series is great! :D) I can't imagine liking Lestat yet - but I wouldn't be surprised if that changed after the next book, there are so many books where I start liking characters I hated before. Also, when so many people seem to find the first book worse than the others, there might be something to it :D Best wishes!

Response: One thing I love about zines is that they can be made so many different ways. I used to do a lot of digital scrapping, so I have brought that over to making zines. But I have b&w ones that I have loved receiving. It's such a fun little way to express yourself. Thank you for the kind words - I actually don't print them. I have them done at a local print shop on a color laser printer. Cheaper than the ink it would take to print otherwise! Response: Yeah. I couldn't find anything premade, and even the make-it-yourself ones didn't work out the format I wanted - either too little or too much space. Comment: Ok....a planet with giant, intelligent spiders sounds a "little bit" like a nightmare to me if I had to go there... :D Nevertheless, as book it sounds cool, especially because I like spiders from a biological perspective :D Also the book sounds quite detailed and like the science part is explained in it, and I absolutely adore stories that focus on non-human hypothetical cultures/values/societies, it's such an interesting thought experiment. So the book sounds like I should have already ordered and read it, I hope to read it soon :) Thank you very much for bringing this book to my attention! I'll answer more to your letter in the letter I'm writing now for the sticker story swap :)
Response: Yeah, I had to specifically not picture them as spiders like we have. And it was supremely fascinating from a biological and speculative point of view. I think it takes so much imagination to make up sentient beings that are so totally different from anything we experience. Thanks so much for the heart and rating!

Comment: Thank you very much for your detailed review! :) Once I had read the words "trilogy", "vampires" and "zombies", I knew that I'd have to check out that book :D Turns out, it was already on my goodreads to read list. But now I know – thanks to your review – that this actually could even be a book/series I'd find worth buying if I don't find it in my library :) "completely coherent", "no plot holes", "no hanging strings", not too many deaths and the length of the book sound great and like I could really love the series :) If that is fulfilled and characters are developed well, I don't care if it's scientifically correct or not :) Plus I had no idea vampire like creatures were in that book, I find quite any book with vampires at least 'readable', even with the worst story/writing :D Best wishes!

Comment: That's different - an angry, vampire sun. That's kind of oxymoronic seeing as vampires and sunlight are incompatible? Very cute. It would help if you would write which swap the card is from on the card itself, so I don't have to guess (although this was one of the easier ones to guess - it was either USA or INTL).
Response: Yeah that’s my sense of humor. Like I had an all black cat named Snowball and a bearded dragon named Fluffy. I looked up the pic I took before I sent it and I did put the name of the swap on it but the post office puts so much stuff on postcards maybe they covered it up? I wrote it alongside the line separating the two sides. I thought it would be safe there! Anyway thanks so much for the rating and the ❤️!

Response: So I used acrylic paint. 3 colors on each, dotted on in a number of spots, and then just used a stiff brush to mix it all up. Had to be more careful with the one with orange, because mixing made mud. Sad hedgehog cuz drawn so very very poorly! I'm not a natural artist at all haha! Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I put a lot of effort into it. My hole punches have that bendy thing about them, so I actually cut out each individual grape by hand - 10, 8, and 6 mm. It's kind of like meditation for me to cut stuff out, so it was great fun. Thanks for the rating and the heart!

Comment: Both of your envelopes arrived in my mailbox today, and although you SO did not have to send the second one, I do love the gorgeous bright colors of the napkins. Your tag and coin are adorable...I've never seen this napkin before, and I'm thrilled to have some of my own to play with!
Response: Well, I did think, it would be a waste to use a stamp on one napkin, which is why I put in extras and some other stuff, I think, too. I'd rather do MORE than required than less than required any day. Glad you enjoy, and thanks for the rating and the heart! Those are cool napkins, right? I got them at Hobby Lobby on clearance. I think they were in a Mexican aisle.

Response: Yeah, that's me. Hmm...I generally write the swap name on the top of the card. I do worry that all those postal marks will cover it, but also recently moved and I haven't taken pictures of all the postcards I sent, so things were a bit hectic for a few days there. Normally I take a photo of EVERYTHING I send, but I haven't taken photos of 2 PC swaps that happened right on the few days of my move. However, I do remember saying those things, so it must have been me. Sorry I am a stickler about that, cuz I HATE getting a swap that I have to try and figure out. Thanks for the rating!

Comment: I am very active in geocaching, infact going to an event a little later today. I enjoyed Debbie Macomber's books but my favorite is her Deliverance Company followed by the Cedar cove series. Glad I could make you laugh with the cougar comment, I also live near WSU and their mascot is "cougar," but it's just a funny statement. I'll look you up on Geocaching.com. I also logged the trifecta in Geocaching, Headquarters, The Original Cache and The Ape Cache! I also went to the very first USA Giga Event!

Oh, crap, oops!’ the entire time! LOL I totally envy you. And I totally heart you for my wonderful perfectly cut stamped images that I’ll be using very soon. Thank you so much! :)
Response: You're entirely welcome! Yeah, I got extra tiny scissors and even used a craft blade (x-acto type knife) to get them perfect as possible. I loved it. I loved sharing my good stuff with you, and then I got some good stamps from others. Best alternative to just owning ALL THE STAMPS (which I'm not opposed to, but my need for food and shelter are). All my frogs even the yellow, black and red are dart frogs. I still love Pooh and hope I never stop! I even have my original childhood Pooh in my hope chest!

It just sounds like Drea, but it's spelled Jraya. I thought Jennifer would be a good name for her, but ah, well. It's funny about frogs - my fave color in the world by A LOT is green, but I want blue frogs. Not enough to get them, but as a velleity. My daughter was nicknamed Pooh cuz that was the first thing that made her laugh was a musical Pooh. She is now a musician. Response: Definitely. These stuff the mailboxes - I'll be joining ALL of them now that I have a big ol' stash. I have this quality about me that made it so fun to get together 20 envelopes, put the stamps and my return address label on them, collect 20 or 40 or 60 of a bunch of different stuff, and have them all ready to go and label, and basically this was just so fun. I'd love doing this even if I didn't get stuff back, but can't wait to see what I get back! Thanks for the rating and the heart!

Yeah, I'm finding that I like to stamp images, then use watercolors or colored pencils and then use them like a die-cut on a card or other piece of art, so hopefully you will be able to use those. Have you tried Dean Koontz? His "Watchers" is very good. How about Stephen King's "Lisey's Story"? Any way thanks again for the pc.

Response: I'm impressed you got one. I just never did. Though the card I received was really cool. The top layer was clear with a stamped image of a conch shell, and beneath it was watercolor painting, which looked very abstract on its own (but still pretty) and then colored in the top stamped layer when that was pulled down over it. Okay, now I have to give a name "goosey" cuz shout out. Thank you for the rating and the heart!

My favorites are Deloris Claiborne, Misery and IT, among others. Actually, my mom used to read Stephen King out loud when she was pregnant with me. I guess that was my first exposure. Lol I’ve loved King for as long as I can remember!!
Response: Wow, and even BEFORE you can remember! I think your King tastes run like my mom's. The Dark Tower series seems to be a love-it or hate-it kind of thing. But if I can make one suggestion - the one he added later, Wind Through the Keyhole, is very different from the others, so if you get the chance to read it, I suggest it. It only stays with the Gunslinger at the very beginning and end, and the story in the middle is AMAZING. I love the ones you mentioned. Thanks for the rating, and for the heart!
