I am currently reading Verity by Colleen Hoover - it was listed in a FB group, so I thought I needed to catch up! LOL! Really Colleen Hoover's books were listed a bunch of times, so... I have not read her books before, so giving it a try! I do love our library - really most libraries that I have visited, as each one has it's own special thing going on! I am currently in three book clubs, one at my local library, one at a little tiny library about 15 miles away, and one at a local church, they are lunch gals as well, so lots of fun! I have a ton of books as well, my hubby wants me to either thrift them, give them to friends or sell them - sigh! I love my books but really don't have a great place to display them and I am working on decluttering this year, so... How wonderful that you have a place to display them! I also have to pay to have a library card, but like you, my hubby thinks it is well worth the money for me to borrow books! LOL! I currently have 10 books, magazines, and playaways (a book on something like an MP3 player) out and have a ton more on order! So thankful for our library!! All the best! Comment: Tanks for everything, but especially the great New Guinea post cards. I have never seen a picture of New Guinea before. They used to be cannibals. And, the info on the cards! So informative! Where did you get them?
Response: I bought an old ledger journal that had been turned into a scrapbook, containing newspaper articles for an incredible array of world-wide events. There was a little stack of those postcards buried inside! It was just a lucky find - I had no idea I was getting those with the book when I ordered it on ebay!

Comment: I just have to say that this SOC letter was AMAZING. Can’t tell you how many times I was reading and just thought “YESSSSS I FEEL YOU!” Well except for chicken alfredo, I’m much more of a red sauce kinda gal. Also, I may have ran my hands over the crinkly paper a few times myself because it feels so cool (I write really heavy and do that to all my papers so it’s nice to be on the receiving end 🤪). The notecards you sent were perfect, thank you for including!! And....don’t forget to talk to Neil about those 3D printed bookbinding/cutting rulers.

Yes, we do have toilet seats, although we use the European style toilets which lets you examine the result before flushing down. My American flatmate jokes a lot about it, especially after I returned from NYC and I detailed her how shocked I was with that lake I had to sit over. I actually tried avoiding to use it for as long as possible, because I was afraid it might feel like making a cup of tea or it splash back and waters the rose...

Comment: I LOVE LOVE LOVE what you sent! All of the tissue is awesome, but the one with all the vintage images is too die for! I looked up all the illustrators you mentioned, and I loved them. My favorites were the Brothers Hilts, and Oliver Jeffers I believe. I do think I may have to include some of their art in my journal! To answer your question, I use other people illustrations and pieces of the story they are from to create the pages. I can not draw at all, but I have a creative mind, and love to collect things that make me happy. I adore the whimsical nature in children's book illustrations thus decided to create a journal filled with them!

I think you'll be just fine but should consider sending the daughter to boarding school. And I like hedgehogs as well as dogs but I'm not sure I could justify cancer surgery. Comment: Thanks for the great letter and bookmark with cool packaging 😊 The end of the letter with the pet mishaps was so funny 😂 I was going to die. I glad I wasn't the responsible adult having to deal with the aftermath. I took a quick basic free test and it said I was ISTJ. Seemed pretty accurate with the possible exception of responsible. I would say I'm pretty responsible but when I went out shopping with a friend yesterday, her four year old daughter asked to stay next to me in a store full of breakable antiqued but she said that wasn't a good idea as I wasn't a responsible adult. 🙁 My New Years resolutions of actually going on a date this year (hasn't happened the last couple years) and getting outside more have gone nowhere so far but it's still early. Hopefully you are doing better with yours. Anyways, have a great week, Nathan ❤🐶

Comment: I love your letters :) So, how about this for an idea to keep you busy on your last week before Concussion Patrol Duty? Build a Tiny House for each child! I was reading about a 12-year-old who over 2 years built her own backyard tiny house (with help) and then lived in it for weeks on end starting at age 14. Sounds like a win-win to me :) Of course, I think that she lived in Australia and only had to deal with poisonous snakes, spiders, and cane toads and not Manitoba winters, which, as we know, are deadlier than Mans o' War or whatever the plural is for killer jellyfish. Good luck with the football, and remember Canada Pride -- the Canuks developed all the cool trauma rules -- Canadian CT and C-spine rules, Ottawa ankle rules ... credit Hockey Night!

You did such a great job of honestly addressing your worst challenges and giving yourself credit for your strengths and successes. And you have your ups and downs which all makes it seem real and not some "pie in the sky" expert who never eats anything except carrots and celery in public but is never seen in real life fighting off a craving for ice cream! Your journal definitely inspired me to keep on going even when I don't seem to be making significant progress. I am working with a personal training once a week and doing the exercises on the weight machines he's taught me to use at least four other times a week and put in at least 3 miles on the bicycle every time I work out. The scale is stuck and I know my muscles are stronger, but no big changes in clothes size. I need ed the inspiration your journal provided! Thanks very much!

Response: I'll tell you but DON'T TELL ANYONE. I make up the labels on the computer, print them out on my colour laser printer (at work, moi haha) on full-sheet label sheets, then cut them out verrrrrrry carefully with my sharpest scissors. Voila! (And glad you liked them!)

Comment: LIFESAVER pops!! How cool that you can hand-make journals! (Perhaps a private one-on-one sometime?) I sat in the shade of a bradford pear tree, sipping on a chocolate milkshake while I read all your entries! I laughed and ranted right along with you! I remember those small-kid-under-foot days all too well. (Oh, and the invisible husband too!) lol I hope when you get this one back you'll enjoy rereading it (esp'ly the bit about the "crap of thunder." (Thought I'd choke when I read that!! :) PS: What you did with the envelope! it's going to get FRAMED !! :)
