She remarked how since time immemorial people were drawn to, and liked to keep, and look at beautiful things, like rocks. Isn't it amazing how far we've come to be able to facet and polish those rocks into a piece so stunning. :)
Response: Yes! And I protest that some are "better" than others- my green tourmaline is just a lovely as a sapphire and more sparkly than an emerald or alexandrite. Just as good!

Response: Yes, that would have been nice! I put honey on the comb in the photo looking toward the house, so that a few bees would come land on it for a snack. Beehives should show some bees!

Comment: Wow! This is an amazing package, thank you! Little man's eyes went wide when he saw the Reeces. I'm looking forward to working through each item, but we tasted the orange square biscuits with peanut butter, and I wondered what they are-other than delicious!
Response: I'm so glad you are pleased! Those orange squares are cheesey peanut butter snacks, available everywhere and often added to lunchboxes. One can also get them where the cracker is normal and the filling is cheese.

Response: Its a breast feather from a peacock. I have a friend who has peacocks in her yard and I stalk the ground under the tree where they roost. Breast feathers are my favorite, like little jewels!

Response: I had to look up Cabool- it's about 5 hours SE from me, it's in the Ozarks and I'm on the Missouri River, just across from Kansas. Cabool is near the place (Mansfield) where Laura Ingells Wilder wrote her Little House books, tho! I've been there, it's a museum now.

Comment: I love this card so much! There is a book of Oscar Wilde's life that I want to read, but have not yet. Thanksgiving was wonderful, thanks for the well wishes. No snow here, but it was quite cold when we went for a walk. My visitors from MI were very pouty that they were promised warmer weather than up north. Your marshmallows sound delicious and the image of your bees and chickens made me feel the coziness all the way at my house. Happy holidays! :):):)

Comment: It was a nice postcard and a nice note, but it did not follow the specifications of the swap: "Include your username, swap name and a few short lines to your partner about Swapbot." There was a lot about NYC, but nothing about Swapbot.
To answer your question: no, I live in Rockland County which is to the north and west of NYC (but I did live in the city from 15-35).

Response: Amazing! When my mom passes on, she has asked to be taken to Canton and some of her ashes placed on her parent's graves in the Evergreen Cemetery. So, eventually, I will go there. And I have a cousin who is still there- I remember the pine trees...

I don't have much of a green thumb, but I have been trying to keep pesticides out of my back yard and to plant vegetation that will attract birds and butterflies. Comment: I am not ready for summer to be over but they are calling for snow flurries this week-end. My dog loves chasing the blowing leaves in the yard. She was a trooper last winter climbing up on the snow piles on either side of the driveway with ease. I hope she is as good this winter.
Response: That sounds like a lot of snow last year- our driveway is long and steep and snow removal takes a lot of time and work Our dogs rather stay in and watch!

Comment: What a great PC and what a great wedding this must have been! Wonder if the guests had to wear skates - wouldn't that have been fun?!?! There were many projects I need to try now. Also, thank you so much for the freezer paper! :) It was such a nice surprise! Someone once sent me a piece of it and I cut a stencil on it and ironed it on a fabric like you told your daughter does and it was so handy! It's really a shame we can't buy it over here. :/ But now I can't wait to use it again! :) - - - Yes, Finnish is different from Swedish/Danish, but also from Russian (those belong to the Germanic and Slavic branches of Indo-European languages). Finnish belongs to the Finno-Ugric language family together with Estonian and Hungarian. Estonian is quite close to Finnish, so we can understand each other's language to some extent. All the other Finno-Ugric languages are endangered or nearly extinct (because they are not official or majority languages), spoken in different parts of Russia + Sami languages in northern parts of Finland, Sweden and Norway).

Can't wait to crochet something with it. And of course, how can I not like the chocolates? I never tried the marzipan one. Thanks again!
Response: I soak and squeeze out the yarn and lay it in plastic wrap. Then squirt diff. colors of concentrated koolaid around the skein. Roll up and seal, microwave for 4 minutes. Should rinse pretty clear- mw longer if not. ;- }

Comment: Your "Beyond the Veil" ATC has two qualities that I love in an ATC: texture and dimension. Love it! I've seen this particular image of Excalibur in the stone online and I love it. Did you just save it and print it out on photo paper? Brilliant! And the image of the Lady I love too. Especially the way you've highlighted her with glitter on her hair piece. The texture of the veil, especially how you've placed it so that it partially conceals excalibur is also brilliant. The ATC is very cool, I love the recycled envie it came in, and I would love to know where you found playing cards with swords on them! Thanks, Wendy!
Response: Your words are very kind and they warm my heart and give me confidence ;- } I got the images from a royalty-free image CD from Dover Publishing, printed them onto photo paper. The cards are spanish- featuring chalices, swords, clubs (caveman) and coins. Glad you like it all!

Comment: I love how incredibly creative your ATC is, Wendy! I like dimension and you incorporated yours really well in the way the boat is raised. I think it was incredibly creative of you to make Arthur's armor as individual foiled pieces. And very clever use of the face image to really make him stand out from his lady escorts. But, my absolute favorite part of the whole ATC is the way you used thread to simulate rays of light. Super clever! Love it. Great job, Wendy!

Comment: how great, i love the colors and the different patterns. i can weave on a ridged heddle loom. very slowly, but i spin somewhat faster. probably to fast as i over twist everything. what i want is softish singles. other wise my yarn needs to be triple plyed to keep the colors fro barber-poleing

The fairy craft kit is awesome , in a month my niece who is will come over for a weekend and she loves crafting, and I am sure we can make some fairies together. The Button fairy is supercute. Also the fairytale pages which is great for ATCs and collages. I loved that everyting is crafted, or craftsupplies. As that is my biggest passion.
Oh, except for the dog treat, but that was very very much appriciated. Savannah has already eated it, and she approved:) She sends you 10 licks straight in the face!

It would be hard to live in the North in days gone by. Though we live in a log house, and I am always complaining to my brother-in-law to not keep the fire so hot in the wood stove. Dead of winter I run around in my capris and t-shirt. I am just glad we don't have to go out and shoot our supper or anything like that. lol

The paper was amazing and the words....I will give you one in return from a Forgotten English dictionary.
