She's a sweet bird, but BOY is she loud. He also has a yellow sided green cheeked conure (I think thats what its called?) and when those two start squawking to each other, it's like a jungle in there!

The envelopes look fun - I love to make my own too. Just a small tip; you might want to make them out of a bit stronger paper (I use double-sided scrapbook paper), as they'll withstand the postal system better. Thank you again for making my day. Comment: Thanks for the great log! Sounds like we have similar taste. I, too, loved Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead. Don't bother with the rest of the series - it's not worth it. Also, I loved Middlesex, but I think that's because I listened to it on audiobook and the narrator was fantastic. A good reader can make such a huge difference in my enjoyment of a book. I thought Lamb was pretty funny too, and Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt is on my TBR pile. I'll have to add a few more to that pile after reading your log. :)

Comment: What a funny postcard! And thanks also for the 8-part book list. I love reading so there can never be too many titles. I haen't read all, but To Kill a Mockingbird is an all-time favorite. Loved Water for Elephants and TheTime Traveler's Wife makes me tear up to think of it. Very well written.

Comment: Great ideas, especially the one about putting a box of ornaments together for your kids. My mother in law used to buy all of us (kids included) an ornament every year when she was alive. Your list reminded me that I should keep up the tradition.
