Response: Yay! I'm happy you liked them. I made the backgrounds with a gel print plate. Each one has 2-3 colors of paint plus a drop of gold metallic paint. I'm glad you liked the shimmery effect.

Response: I liked it! That was our beach day on our cruise to the Caribbean. So I mostly floated around in the water, and laid in the sun. The grandkids did jet skies and had a blast!

It must be wonderful to be able to see Orca whenever you wish. Thank you so much for sending the extra Singin in the Rain card too. Comment: Lyndy! You really had a huge piece of Celery for this! Such a beautiful pc and rises. I like how you cut out some of the spaces between "petals". The lace in the corner is very pretty, too. Nice sewing job. I always joke that I can't sew a straight line to save my life...love the whole Cabbage Rose pc. Did you sre any Orca? When my son and I visited my brother in Alaska about 20 years ago, we went on a cruise out of the hatbor.harbor.. saw a lot of Orca. The tour guide said it was like Orca soup! Usually a lot of different whales, not just Orca. It was a great cruise. What do you take for training courses? Sounds fascinating! Thank you for the beautifully crafted PC. Hope you'll join some more swaps. 😀

Response: I was so happy when your swap description said it was ok for the rose to overhang the card, and be artsy. I love to do that, but most people don't like it. When I receive them I roll a piece of tape and put it on the back, and stick it on the outside of the center spot of the pocket page in my notebook. I'm so glad you like it! The cabbage rose postcard is in the mail on it's way to you now.

Response: I got all but one at a little shop called Flamingo Jim's at my favorite vacation place, Rockaway Beach, OR. Every year I buy a couple more decks. The blue card with the little white sea creatures all over it was a deck my daughter bought for me in Hawaii. All my kids keep an eye out for cool cards when they're on vacation! They know I especially like the ones that have pictures on the number side.

Interestingly, on our trip to the other house two weeks ago, we drove through your town and really enjoyed it! And my username is based on a stuffed animal named Pink Pengin, who is, in fact, purple - I cannot tell you why, but as soon as I got her (and I'm talking in the past 6 years, not as a little kid), I looked at her and said "Her name will be Pink Pengin!" No one remarked on it, and I didn't realy... I don't know... put it together? But two weeks later, my wife bought a matching one that was ACTUALLY pink, and I was like, well, crap. So hers is Link Pengin, and Link is pink and Pink is purple and Human PinkPengin is weird. LOL!

Comment: Hi Lyndy, thank you for the brilliant postcards. I have actually been to Olympia, WA (in 2016). I was travelling through Oregon and then WA to Seattle with friends. We stopped in Olympia for an afternoon, it was really good. One of my friends likes to visit all the state capitals. That was probably my favourite holiday in The US, although I've only been to NYC (another fun holiday). Thanks again for the mail.

Comment: Hi Lyndy, I’m so glad you were my partner. I was born in Olympia, Washington, and I lived in Lacey and Tumwater growing up. I left in December of 1996. I have a brother that still lives in Lacey. We were on the Puget Sound almost every weekend! You’ll have to tell me what dragon boating is. Thank you for a fun swap and I especially like the Chehalis Centralia railroad sticker.
Response: Dragon boats are long narrow boats with a dragon head on the front, and the tail is on the back. You sit in pairs, a total of 22 people. There's a drummer at the front of the boat who keeps the beat. Everybody paddles at the same time in the same exact rhythm. It's really fun! I'm still new, so I haven't participated in a festival race yet. But I'm looking forward to that in the summer.

Response: Thank you for the heads up. That wasn’t my bag, and I didn’t know I was supposed to correct the owner’s mistakes. I added to it, and forwarded it on to you in the same condition it was in when I received it. Next time this happens I’ll contact the bag owner and see if they want me to bring their swap up to par.

Just goes to show just how many different decks are out there!! yes! I am GabiGirl on postcrossing! I LOVE IT!! Living history (reenactments) is a huge hobby of mine.. my family and I are both heavily active in WWII reenactors as well as medieval era reeanctors. We are in groups that keep the history alive and we teach by reenacting it! I will check these stickers out and message you .. xx Gabi

Now for the orchid. I would leave well enough alone! Just think that they grow in the wild with no bark chips, right? I can't even begin to tell you how to repot. It's just something that I learned throughout the years. It can be done, old roots cut, and old bark pulled away and new put in. It sounds scary, doesn't it? I love it though! Anyway, I'd leave it alone. Maybe you can check for orchid growers in your area and let them do it for you. Another option. Thank you again! I really loved everything!!

Comment: What a fascinating letter and photos! I have never heard about wooden money as legal tender and am amazed that the town started reissuing it last year. Our historical society has a printing press used by Benjamin Franklin's brother, but it certainly didn't print wood. Thank you so much for the souvenier dollar as well -- I absolutely love everything. Thank you!!

I am reading through Grimms fairy tales at the moment which I am really enjoying. love free little libraries- there aren't many in in Oz but they are the best idea. Also love the quote!
