They get pretty big here coz we are at the very southern tip of Lake Michigan and they keep building up, of course this is when we have a deep freeze for weeks and winter have been mild lately. Rich

Comment: I received this large cardboard envelope yesterday and am just opening yesterday's mail right now. I was surprised to realize this was for a card swap on Swap-bot. I thought maybe it'd been an order I'd made! I'm rating you a 5 with heart now because I know this is going to be heart-worthy without even opening it! 😂. ETA: yes it was definitely heart worthy! The first thing I pulled out was the peacock stationery and my mouth dropped open and I said "OMGosh!" It's GORGEOUS! Wow! Thank you! It's almost too beautiful to write on! 😂 Thank you also for the Eiffel Tower postcard and heart stickers. Love!!! The Happy New Year card was elegant in its simplicity. Because of our colder climate basically we have soup and "stamppot". We mix mashed potatoes with seasonal vegetables and meat. Ages ago a lot of cabbage. Nowadays with lighter vegetables like lettuce. Even in the summer, with some bacon and vinegar.

Comment: It finally arrived today, January 29th in the Priority Mail Express. Thank you for such a sweet note and I just LOVE the seeds. They will be placed in my friendship garden this spring. I also really like the post card. Such a shame the postal service not more reliable. I sure hope they can refund some of your money being it never arrived in 2 days like it says, but in 8 days. We buy their coffee pretty frequently, and they do have their own coffee shop (in Oakley), so that might be worth checking out if you have time to explore next time you're in town.

I love John Cusack, I had a friend who kind of looked like him and his name was John and he sometimes sounded like him - so I liked to hang out with him because he was cute, ha ha ha. For Halloween my husband and I drove around to see other houses that were decorated and I am glad I did not bother this year for from what I heard, there were not very many trick or treaters out, which is good to be honest. That's a great idea! - My favourite christmas tradition is the giving of the presents on christmas eve, in German called the "Holy evening" (Heiligabend). In families with younger children Santa Claus (or a neighbour or friend in a costume) visits the house and brings the presents and since I'm no child anymore we gamble for the presents: No present has a name tag and whoever has a 1 or 6 (normal dice), is allowed to take 1 present. In the end we unpack one by one and see for whom it's really is. That's always great fun. :)

Typically, my Mum and I are in NYC for Halloween so this week is a bummer knowing we'd typically be in NY :( No trick or treaters come to my house, which is Okay by me because I always forget to get candy hehe. Comment: Thanks for the owl postcard! I'm not a "native" Cincinnatian, but my husband has managed to convert me to liking Cincinnati chili. Of the local chains, I like Blue Ash Chili the best. :) And a HUGE YES to Banana Leaf! It's been years since I've been there, since I work downtown now, but their green curry is the absolute best! I'm going to put that on the list to visit for carryout in the near future...it's a bit of a drive for us, but it will be worth it!

Too bad it has been cancelled - as it happens so very often - on the front of the pc, right across his face :( Update: Thank you so much for sending yet another awesome postcard!
