Comment: Hi Carrie, thanks for the nice postalette and written letter and fox sticker! :) My favorite thing about spring is the warmth, the sunshine, we have many no sun days here in southern Illinois in the winter, the flowers and our bluebirds. We only have one bluebird house but they use it every year and this year they started early and already have babies. The usually raise 4 families and have their last family leave the nest in Sept. So fun!! I have 1 red flowering hibisus plant , 2 hot pink ones, 1 bright yellow one, and one yellow dasiy potted plants. I usually can keep hibiscus alive since they like lots of water and sunshine. I tend to over water plants. They have such huge bright flowers and my red plant had 10 flowers blooming in one day! Most I have ever had on one plant. I would love to go on a vacation in the USA anywhere this summer. But if not I am enjoying overnight crafting crops at hotels with friends. I go to one May 2-4 and am so looking forward to it. He's discouraged that many divide 15 by 5 and get 5. He sees the social anxiety too - no one comes to office hours unless they are in deep trouble because they haven't done the homework.

We do minimal decorating for Halloween - not because we don't want to, but with two little ones in a new to us home, time is at a premium. Favorite costume...hmm...It's a tough call, but my mom made me a wicked witch costume which was perfect because I watched The Wizard of Oz EVERY SINGLE DAY when I was little! Happy Halloween!

Comment: Thank you for the unique and spiritual postcard! I love it! I agree about the beautiful art on tarot and oracle cards. I even own a steampunk set. Mostly as morning affirmations for my day ahead. It is hot here too, I live in the country side- a bit cooler due to less buildings and traffic. Lots of acres of land, peace and quiet. Cooler than the big city I drive to work in, 45 minutes away. But the drive is mostly 2 lane country road with green lush trees greeting me! Thank you again!

Comment: Thanks for the potatoes. They grow a lot over here. Our climate is to cold for citrus fruits, you can find them in Spain. But I see more olivetrees these last years, in pots in the gardens. Summers are hotter then 30 years ago. Weather gets extreme: a lot of rain in a couple of days (with problems in villages and on roads) and dryer month like in spring this year.

I had training twice a year with CMS (Centers for Medicare Medicaid) I trained with the Surgeon General’s staff as I did both federal and state inspections in health care facilities. Based in Baltimore MD. Pretty state too many people! I got to DC but didn’t have time to explore.

Comment: The Nebraska stamp for the win! That’s so cool! I was in Texas last year and was blown away by all the oil wells we saw on our way to Roswell, NM. Then those random pipes shooting flames out of them! Felt like we were in Mad Max! Luckily it was afternoon and not night or I would have been freaking out lol! Also, I was lucky that my gas tank was full because there was hundreds of miles between towns. Thanks for the PC!

Comment: What a great postcard! The strawberry stands here usually sell out within an hour or two of being open. The last two years we haven’t been able to open the u-pick fields, I’m going to check and see if the fields are open this year. I love strawberry/rhubarb pie, crumble, syrup, anything & everything with those two things are wonderful! Asparagus is wonderful too, I had some for dinner tonight :-)

Comment: ha ha ha My husband spent a week in NY with some friends that live there (Brooklyn). I was too scared to go to NY even though we would be staying with friends. He loved it and brings it up from time to time how much he loved and how sad he still is that I didn't go. Thank you for this postcard, I like the postage stamps and the rubber stamps you used. My 2 year grandbaby loved playing with my rubber stamps in a small box. I found all but one rubber stamp but can't find the ink pads, ha ha ha be safe

Comment: I agree, the coloring is rather depressing on this card. But I find the fairy's expression off-putting as well. She looks uncomfortable and has a look that says, "Back off!" I do like the mushroom house and flamingo on the back very much!

I moved to IL when I was a sophomore in high school but lived in MO which is right across the river, so always in the Midwest - so tons of heat and humidity here - yikes! My oldest moved to CO and after visiting two years in a row, I am ready for low to no humidity! LOL! I have heard it is so expensive to live in CA and one has to live within their means, so... That is great that you still visit WI and MN frequently, so you get to enjoy all that each area has to offer! Comment: I always thought that macarons were like meringue too. They're supposed to be pretty hard to make, but I've seen the KIDS on the Gordon Ramsey cooking challenge show make them at least once, maybe twice. I like to think that I'm a pretty decent cook...until I see that show. Then I feel woefully inadequate! BTW, I think I've only ever eaten one macaron in my life so I can't really say anything about them.

His school is doing a combination of in-person and virtual. He really wishes they'd switch to all virtual. There have been several cases of COVID at the school but they won't close it down. We did a bit of a road trip just after Christmas which has meant that we are in self isolation now at home. First two covid tests came back negative, hopefully the final one on Saturday will too and we will be free to roam again! I hope 2021 has gotten off to a good start for you and yours: cat included! Comment: Thank you for the Harry Potter postcard. I do love the Harry Potter movies. The peel-and-eat shrimp is a wonderful tradition to carry on. On New Year's we usually watch the Fireworks at the Space Needle on tv but it has been cancelled like everything else this year. They didn't have it last year because of wind which should have been a sign of what 2020 was going to be like. Happy New Year!

I don't eat meat, and my husband has to work Thanksgiving day, but the weekend after we will probably make a special holiday meal with lots of traditional goodies like sweet potatoes and green bean casserole - although it will be my first attempt to make it non dairy - so wish me luck.
Response: Good luck! I've heard that casserole can be quite delicious dairy-free. For years, we made our stuffing with a fake meat sausage alternative, and it was still tasty! :) Have a happy Thanksgiving!

As for me and how I ease stress - I do a lot of plastic canvas and that's usually my go to for stress - either that or reading and it seems I do quite a bit of both. Response: The toilet-riding is very much alive in Silver Lake, MN, each non-pandemic summer. I have a BUNCH of pictures of grown adults, some in pairs, plunging their way down the main street of town. Literally with plungers, yes. It is awesome.
