Comment: Hi Jacki, thank you for such a nice swap! I loved reading your letter. I also am not big on fantasy or sappy romance books. I’ve also been in a too long slump but have been reading, just not as much. I have quit reading several boring books lately and that is always a bummer! I LOVED The Poisonwood Bible too - a favorite for sure. I really don’t re-read books. I have too many I need to read once, ha! The ones I love stay with me even decades later. I met Harlan Coben years back when I worked at a Barnes & Noble. He’s a super nice guy and we both are from NJ so we chatted for a bit. I haven’t read any of his books but I know what you mean about books being too predictable. My tastes have changed over time as well. I loved the Housemaid books and I’m waiting on this week’s release of the newest one from the library. Her books are fast and easy and usually jump start my reading if I’m in a slump! I bought The Women and hope to read it this summer. I don’t listen to audiobooks. I wish I could but I just can’t pay attention! Thanks for the cute card and book washi! Comment: I love the envelope! Napkin decoupage is so fun. I actually haven't tried the technique myself. (With cats and fur flying around, I'm sure it's better that I don't.) I also like Harlan Coben and agree with your assessment - Jodi Piccoult was like that for me for a few books, too, but has redeemed herself with the last on, 'The Book of Two Ways'. I loved that it was written in a different style. I also loved 'American Dirt' by Jeanine Cummings - I was very tense reading it, only because I wanted the main character to succeed! Latest interest is Jacqueline Winspear's Maisie Dobbs series (about to start the third - they're crime novels set in England just after WW1). I love the historical detail in those. Oh, the easiest way to start making your own cards, is paper toling. You can buy pressouts, or just print a picture off the computer about 4 times and cut out smaller and smaller parts to stick on top of each other.

Comment: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children IS being made into a movie. It will be directed by Tim Burton so I'm expecting it to possibly be stop-motion. It will hit theaters in summer of 2015.
