Comment: Oh gosh, I would love to go to the balloon festival some time! I am so jealous. When I was in high school, one of my mom's friends had a hot air balloon company and would take us up a few times a year. It was always so cool. Thank you so much for the postcard!
Response: Yay! This year has been great, so far every event has been a go! The first time I went up in a balloon, I was so surprised how quiet it was up in the sky. Comment: My first guess was Colorado until the part about the constitution being bilingual! Very cool! I've never visited New Mexico but now I want to check out that opera house!

There is a discount for first timers to the opera. also the end of the season I love to go to the "cast" shows, where they sing their fave songs and it's really affordable. I used to live in your city but we moved 25 years ago -- I even worked on a balloon chase crew at the fiesta during my senior year in high school! Comment: Thank you for this fun postcard, the colors made me feel cheery! I'm glad you got to visit Olympic National Park. It's so beautiful! It's over 900,000 acres, so I haven't been to all of it, but I've been to quite a few sections of it. The closest section is about 30 minutes from me. My two favorite parts of what I've been to so far, are Staircase Rapids, and Hurricane Ridge. Did you get to either of those?

I have never tried the moss stitch. I've been crocheting since I was a little girl when my grandmother taught me. At some point I took a break but I did return and I'm so happy that I did. I remembered everything. It's like riding a bike, you don't forget. I loved the homemade notecards. You would never know that they were made from napkins. I'm assuming that you copied the napkins on the paper because they don't look like napkins. Summer will be here soon. Feels like it now. You be well and enjoy your summer. Once again, thanks so much!
Response: WOW! thanks so much for the kind words. The cards were made with real napkins, I think the trick is I use "Press and Seal" rather than glad wrap. It sticks much better. I love the dishcloth pattern, it looks fancy but is really simple. The first one I made, I followed the directions but it was small. The next one I used more stitches to make it bigger. Have fun. My son has sensory issues around food and this happens to be his favorite cereal - I never thought to note the name because the packaging was so recognizable however when shortages hit with recent world events it disappeared from shelves! Response: Hello. Funny story, I booked a two day stay at the Hotel but somehow got my dates mixed up. We showed up and then I learned my error. We had dinner at the restuarnet and the lady was nice and let us in to see one of the rooms. Needless to say I was disappointed! We did ride the train too, and saw a few of your other suggestions so your advice was great! We also saw four covered bridges!! You're welcome for the recipe, it's so yummy! Response: It really is a cool cavern. There are two public entrances one is the natural opening and you walk down into the cavern, really cool. Then the other option is to take the elevator into the cavern. I cheat and walk down and then take the elevator up to the surface. I added the caverns near your home to my list of things to see. Response: I would also love to go to Scotland and Ireland, maybe one day. Thailand looks so exotic too. A stay home summer can be lots of fun. A few years ago in NM we had a NM Cultural Passport. It had 15 locations that were must see for the state. Fortunately, our state is small and Albuquerque is in the center of the state. Our "not going anywhere" summer was pretty cool. We managed to get to all of them, most location were a day trip. Packed up the ice chest and a tank of gas... off we went. Maybe you can do the local thing too, museums, check out a few movies, learn a new craft and the dreaded-clean something lol. Keep me posted. Thanks for the heart and good wishes! Comment: This has finally arrived! Somehow I missed that I hadn't received it, so it was a fun surprise! I'm not sure what took it so long, the mail is really strange at times! I LOVED reading this! The tumbleweed snowman is so interesting! It's a fun way to have a snowman in a place that doesn't get much snow. I'm tired of snow, so I'd be happy to live in a place where the snowmen are made of tumbleweeds. Thank you for the stickers and the beautiful address labels! I look forward to using them!!

Turns out her mother was a drunk and not there to protect her. Luckily, the grandpa on that show also served in a child protective role and made sure she was protected. Later, when she grew up she did recv royalties from her shows. Can you imagine what would of happened otherwise? Thank you for making that cool notecard. Also for the cool addy labels and the cute stickers! That was very nice of you!

Response: Wow! I bet that was an adventure, hope the weather gods were good to you. Funny story: I used to love green Chile cheeseburgers or green Chile stew. Haven't had any since I discovered I was allergic to Green Chile many, many years ago. Going to the grocery stores in the fall is a challenge with all the green Chile roasting. Gotta hold my breath and run into the store. I look pretty silly! There is a store here in Albuquerque, that will ship frozen Chile. But I buy the powdered version and send it to friends. Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful card and sharing your Thanksgiving with me! We were in Dallas about 6 weeks ago but all we really got to see was the hospital my sister was in. We have been to the Kennedy memorial and toured inside the book depository where Lee Harvey Oswald was when he shot out at Kennedy. We keep saying we're going to go back and see more of the tourist attractions but since my sister moved out of Dallas to about 3 hours away from there we just never seem to get back into town. I guess we'll have to plan that for this summer. Before the pandemic we came to Albuquerque and loved it. We accidentally showed up just in time for the balloon festival. Everything you sent, handmade card, tags, beautiful card stock halves in FANTASTIC COLORS, the handmade items in fabric, and 2 coloring pages are things I can use as I move along. You also sent a lovely note. I always write a handwritten note when I send out my swaps. I think it makes each swapper feel I care. It was GREAT to receive a package from Albuquerque. I moved to Colorado Springs in February of 2021. I came up to be closer to family as I have many illnesses and they are definitely been a challenge. Just Now, in one week or so, I’m having a Total Knee Replacement. It will be a year to make the total circle around to a knee that will not hurt again. I lived in Albuquerque for more than 40 years. It was the first place that felt like home and I always share that Albuquerque is my home. I hope we have further opportunities to swap with one another.
