Comment: Thank you for the UFO mail + all the stickers! I enjoyed reading your letter. No real plans for me either this summer either. I remember reading animorphs as a kid too! Those book covers were the coolest. I'm also a fan of The X-Files, it's a good show to have on while working on other things haha. I don't think I've finished an entire watch-thru yet myself, but I have a lot of the seasons on DVD...someday! I personally believe it's real (though maybe not in the way we think) and hope to have disclosure/proof in my lifetime.Thank you again!

Comment: Thank you for the letter and stickers. Aspect is now 18. She had a problem last week and we had to go to not her vet, where she was too spicy to be diagnosed. They did get some antibiotics into her, and she's back to doing well. Also she started purring and being super sweet as soon as she was returned to me.

Response: That's so weird, IDK why it's so inconsistent these days. Sometimes I get letters postmarked from nearby states later than ones from farther-away states. And sometimes it seems like the mail pipe gets clogged and everything comes at once, lol

Comment: Hello, thank you for the cute kitty card. I hope that you can improve your leg, must be frustrating but persistence is key with the physio exercises (I once broke my shoulder!). Sewing is something I'd like to do more of, if I had space to do it.. but I'll join a sewing class in Feb for 9 weeks, I want to finish a dress and make a yellow cardigan. I completely understand the wanting to bond with your cats, ours has been with us 3.5 months now and she just wants to play and gets whingy when we don't. I'd love her to be a snuggly cat, but it's slow going. Good luck with it. And thanks so much for the cute extras, I love them and will use them in my journals. :)

It’s still summer here in South Texas, or was until it started raining yesterday. Today is milder than it was. I have a tomato plant and some cucumbers in my Fall garden, and they should be fine. We also have a pear tree, but I think it’s lived its lifespan, unfortunately. Your use of pears in your cooking sounds so creative and yummy!

Response: Whoa, that's a LOT! Colorado is pretty anti-tax, which means lower prices at the pump but we often have to get new tires and wheel alignments because of all the broken roads that there's no money to fix, heh.

Comment: I agree with you that it seems like today's technology seems to be taking interaction away from events. Even conversations. A few years ago I went to a concert (Imagine Dragons - love them!) and like you said, it seemed like more people were involved with their phones than with the event. Thankfully, aside from a few photos we took, we all had our phones tucked away! But the lights from everyone's phones did take away from some of the enjoyment. Thanks for sharing !

It's so pretty. :) I love anything with moon phases - I'm a lunatic! :) I have found lots of stationery options with printables, and last year I found some printable journals also had great images for stationery paper. I have far too many designs, but they take up less space on my computer than in my desk drawer, so that's ok! I also accidentally discovered that 'Happy Planner' memo pages for the planner work great for stationery - the paper is thick enough for roller ball or fountain pens and it's too decorated. I never use planners for actually planning, but many work great for letters! :) Thanks so much for sharing!

Response: Printable journals? Uh-oh, I think I just discovered a new thing to be obsessed with! I struggle with keeping journals/bujos because of the bound pages. I've only ever tried to use moleskin-style knockoffs, and not being able to add/remove/reorder pages becomes an obstacle. Printables + binder might agree better with how my brain works!

Comment: Thanks for your note! I understand not wanting to add another hobby. I can knit and sew but I don’t sew my own clothes. That’s not something I’m up to yet. I grew up with my mom always altering her clothes to fit so I inherited that mindset. It’s handy to know how to do a tuck or pin here and there.

Comment: Love the galaxy card. If you like scavenger hunts you should play Wallabee on your phone. It's collecting items to make sets and gets very addicting. I also geocache and play Munzee.

Response: Ooh that reminds me of Star Wars Force Collection which was a card collecting game where you did battle with the cards. I spent too much money on microtransactions and then it got shut down. 😬 Wallabee looks like fun and also like something I can't let myself have 😬

I grew up writing letters, so it seemed funny to me - a book telling you how to choose stationery, what to write, etc... - but it was interesting. :) If you grew up in the 'dark ages' with long distance phone calls, we are probably the same vintage. :) Though I might be a bit older b/c it was a while before we had home computers & could chat and message. It is a lot harder to find people willing to do 'old fashioned snail mail' now. But I've also seen several services now that you can pay a subscription fee to receive a letter each month! I never knew that was a thing - I think I've missed my calling! :)

Response: I'm too young to remember cheap concert tickets, and too old to understand tiktok. ;) And I never heard of a letter subscription service, that sounds kind of cool! I just googled it and I think I'm about to fall into a clickhole. :D

Our mail comes very late, at about dinner time, so I can never really enjoy it when it arrives since I'm cooking dinner. Mail arriving in the morning seems almost like heaven. haha :) I think we have similar systems. :)

Comment: I have collected the Auntie Lee mysteries, but have yet to read any. Right now my husband and I are listening to the second Kevin Kwan book, China Rich Girl on CD. Response: Yeah the markup + fee + tip can get kind of ridiculous. Grocery stores were too stressful in the first place with so much designed to steal your attention, bright lights, music, the shrieking and running children... And now we have to worry about the people who aggressively cough and sneeze as explosively as possible. It's really a lot.

Response: Yeah, the municipal pound is sort of pet roulette. My first cat came from the county shelter and had emotional/behavioral problems. I loved her to bits, but she was difficult. It was a much smoother experience working with a private org that rescues them from the pound and helps with matchmaking. <3

I had one of those once, a step-mother. Anyway, Real nice of her, to give you Happy meal toys at age 15 & a Perfect pancake pan. Not! Was trying to tell you something, with pancake pan? I would have been very irritated by that. You're lucky to get anything from step mother. My dad had remarried in 1969, when I was 8 yrs. old. I sort of love my father, who is still here earth & 81 yrs. old. But he let his 2nd wife run all over him. So, He was more of mouse than a man. She ( step mother passed away in 2006 ). Only one year for Christmas, did she let my dad me my brother, and sister something. My brother got a ball cap, my sister colored doll & we are white, and I got one of ink pens with different colors. After that, we got nothing for the following Christmas'. Pure rotten! I shouldn't speak ill of the dead. But she was one rotten woman! Well, I hope you have a great New Years!

My mother has two Russian Blues, Leia & Leonard, I bet the Leias are named after the same princess :) I wish I had kitties myself, but am currently renting so no cats here! My family has several Russian Blues, not only my mom but my sister also has one (Olavi, officially Olaf after the snowman of Frozen), I love that they are social family cats that are curious about what's going on with the humans (and so vocal, they all have so many things to tell!). However, I'd be happy to adopt a kitty from a shelter too <3 I can see that we have some things in common (I'm a techie too with non-digital hobbies!), would you like to be penpals? Anyway, thank you for this lovely swap and the goodies, you made my day :)

Response: It's pretty similar, yeah! It's about the office lives of a bunch of animals that live on the African continent. Some of the situations/gags are a little unique to Japanese work culture IIRC, but for the most part it's the universal truths like an out-of-touch big boss and that one pushy guy who can't read a room. Easily one of my top 10 anime series!

Response: Yep, that's my current address! I've found that I have to put an "X" when I stick the return address on the back, otherwise it just comes back to me with the postage cancelled. :P

Comment: thank for the letter, remember you have to put the stamp like a regular US letter, not Japanese style, had some probs getting here..

Response: That's odd, because the USPS says that you can send a vertical envelope if you put $0.70 in stamps on it.... I learned that here: http://postcalc.usps.gov/default.aspx on the second page there is a drawing that shows a vertical envelope... I wonder why they say it's allowed when it isn't.... was it postage due???

Comment: I love this card - very interesting info about C.S. Lewis - writers can be so weird! What's even weirder for me (considering the subject of the card), is that 3 days ago I was at the dentist having a tooth checked to see if the pain was from a sinus infection or yet another abscess - sometimes it's hard to tell when it's a lower tooth. ;o) Luckily, it's my sinuses - huge relief, and much cheaper than a root canal! ;o)
