It's fun to try to follow someone else's train of thought. That Folk fest sounds like a lot of fun, but not in that heat! Here, we never do anything at all outside (except swim) from Mid-May until Mid-October. I understand your exhaustion for sure!! Thank you for the awesome postcard, too. I envy you working in a castle like that!! That is pretty neat.

Response: It is heat activated foil. I don't remember did I use my heat 'pen' or just douplesized tape. Both methods work with the foil I have.

Handmade envie, puppy paperclip and such sweet words from Keksi-Korni and, did we read this right, Pipari? I love how their handwritings differ. Humphrey is very happy about his letter! I looked on your envelope to see what city in Germany you live in, but I wasn’t familiar with your city. I have a nephew that lives in Stuttgart. He went to college both in Atlanta, Georgia and in Stuttgart. He got a double majorin German and Mechanical Engineering. He is working for a small company in Stuttgart. He is the first American the company has ever hired. He got his evaluation and he got a GREAT EVALUATION!

Response: Raskasta Joulua song is just common christmas song in finnish. It think the english name would be 'Let the christmas come'

Serpent is symbol of Brigid, goddess worshipped at Imbolc. for example, it is listed here http://www.goddessandgreenman.co.uk/imbolc-candlemas (and wikipedia too plus several other sites about wiccan / pagan traditions). I am sorry if this is not Imbolc enough for you. I can send you new card, if that is what you wish.

I enjoyed reading all your answers and learning about Kekri, since I had never heard that "name" before even though I recognized the festival and the symbolism associated with it. And I love the True Blood books but have not seen the TV series, I definitely need to check it out! Eric Northman's pretty hot! We usually go to a Ren Faire each year but I haven't gotten brave enough to wear the historic dresses - very cool that you do this!

Response: Naalbinding is viking age way to make socks etc. Knitting came to Scandinavia pretty late and before that socks/mittens etc were made by naalbinding.

My husband is Finnish. There is a large population here in Lake Worth but he is from upper Michigan. They have a Finn Fest here during the spring.
